Is Alarplasty/Nostril reduction safe in case of ethnic/thick oily skin type of candidate?

best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. Alar base reduction and a tip refining rhinoplasty can have a nice result in the right patient.  Alar reduction usually does not have healing issues and should always be closed with minimal tension.   Make sure you specifically look
at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery
performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most
important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend
that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who
can evaluate you in person.

Without photos- and the benefit of physical exam- it's difficult to give you the best answer. Generally speaking it's a safe procedure and incision placement is discussed after the initial exam. Be sure to seek an experienced Board Certified PS with extensive experience in Rhinoplasty

Alar excision to reduce alar width usually do heal well.  However it usually is done with some tip and dorsal work to make sure there is adequate balance to the nose.  

In thick, oily skinned patients scarring is always a concern. That is a risk that has to weighed against any gains from operation. Discuss with a surgeon in your town and get in- person guidance.

 Nostril reduction is usually performed at the time of the rhinoplasty procedure under a general anesthesia. It can be performed as a standalone procedure under local anesthesia. Meticulous closure of the incision should allow excellent healing and minimize detectability.

Unfortunately there are no pictures. I have performed many Rhinoplasties on patients from around the world. From Africa to Asia, Japan, Philippines, Middle East, US, Caribbean and South America. I like to determine ahead of time how the patient has scared in the past. A good indication is if a patient has pierced ears and no history or keloids. A keloid is a thick wide raised scar. I also like to examine old scars, to see if they are keloid nature. Patients who have no history of keloid scars are good candidates for the surgery you are interested in. Your nasal base can be safely narrowed by removing some skin from the floor of the nose and rotating the nostril bases inward.  The technical term for this is a Weir procedure.  This can safely be performed regardless of your skin type.  For most skin types the scar from this is minimal.  Darker-skinned patients can make darker scars, but in this area it is uncommon.
