I am so sorry to see you suffering. Your scars are significantly larger than normal and I absolutely recommend you have them revised - by either a breast or plastic surgeon. The excess skin can be removed and scar reducing measures including steroid injections, laser and silicone creams will help. You deserve better. Good luck and take care.
Of course there are options for you reconstruction. I would recommend meeting with plastic surgeons in your area regarding your options. I have patients travel from different areas of the country where reconstructive surgeons cannot be easily accessible but this is not the case in California.
I'm so sorry you are in this situation. Can we get more information regarding your situation- why did you have a double mastectomy? Was it for prevention or for cancer? I'm wondering why nipple sparing technique wasn't used? Did you visit several surgeons? Did you ask what there rates of infection and necrosis were? Was reconstruction attempted? If not, did anyone discuss or offer you the Goldilocks Mastectomy technique? Thankfully, there are many skilled surgeons who can work with less than ideal situations and improve them considerably. Please interview several surgeons and ask for pictures of their work, ask about rates of infection and necrosis, and ask to speak with patients who have had similar issues. Yes, this can be made better!
You should be seen and examined to determine the best options regarding your diagnosis and treatment.

I'm sorry you are suffering! Placing tissue that has had no radiation exposure at the site may help considerably. It will improve drainage and decrease tightness. It means more surgery, but it may give you relief. This would be a DIEP or latissimus flap. Talk with your doctors about these...

Is the drainage clear and yellow in color? Or cloudy like milk at all? If it is clear and yellow, and there is no plastic expander or implant in place, it's probably safe to remove it and to give your body a chance to see if it will not make fluid on its own. If it does, it can be drained. If...
