Most swelling ought to resolve in 6 weeks or so, but it is likely that at least some edema may persist longer, up to about 3 months after this procedure, if properly performed. In a few cases, prolonged edema is possible.
Hello dear, thanks for your post.-Swelling after an arm lift (brachioplasty) is expected, with most of the swelling resolving by 3 months after the procedure. -However, some patients, will have continued swelling beyond 3 months that can be annoying. -It is likely that over the course of another 3-6 months, this swelling will resolve completely. I realize it's hard to be patient for the swelling to resolve, but time, more than any other therapy, will allow the swelling to improve.-Thanks for sharing! Good luck :)
Thank you for the question. Generally, it takes several months for swelling to completely dissipate and even longer for patients to appreciate the final outcome of the procedure performed. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question. Most of the swelling after brachioplasty will resolve in the first couple weeks. It is possible that minimal swelling may continue for several months. It is also common to have different amounts of swelling in each arm since they are separate surgical sites.
It will take several weeks if not months for all of the swelling to subside and it will linger the most down by the elbow. Compression and massage can help. Check with your doctor for specifics.
Hello and thank you for your question! As with any surgical procedure, it could take a full 3-6 months for swelling to completely subside. And since you use your arms on a daily basis, they might tend to swell a little more. Make sure to discuss this in depth with your board certified plastic surgeon and they should advise you on the proper post op protocol to best control swelling which may include wearing a compression garment.Best of luck to you!
