How can I get rid of Hidradenitis Suppuravita scars?

Question

My HS (between breasts) has been in remission for years. I've had about 9 laser treatments (Fraxel) on this area, its much better than it was but won't seem to get any better than this. I'm hesitant about skin grafting, but I'm very desperate for my skin to look normal again, it's very embarrassing. I've also tried topical creams, scar creams, a dermal roller.. no luck. Any suggestions?

Dear Jane_marie56,A series of treatments including lasers, microneedling, and dermal fillers will give you the best results to reduce your scar. Lasers and microneedling can help with the pigmentation and texture and the dermal fillers can help with the indentation. You may also consider seeing a plastic surgeon to surgically excise the scar and bring the surrounding skin together. Best regards,Nima Shemirani

These scars can be improved with a combination of vascular lasers like yellow laser, Aerolase, microneedling/prp, skin lightening, peels, and skin care. Sun protection is essential. Hello, and thank you for your question. If you want to permanently remove the scar, I would consider seeking the expertise of a board certified plastic surgeon, and having the scars excised. It is a very cosmetic sensitive area. If you are looking for other minimally invasive procedures, you could consider CO2 fractional resurfacing, which would help more than Fraxel. In addition, you could also have the areas treated with 5-FU and/or kenalog at the time of treatment. I strongly believe that you have multiple options, but you will need to decide what your end goal will be. Seek the expertise of a board certified dermatologist and/or plastic surgeon in your area for further evaluation.
