Currently my hair line is square, similar to the pictured hairline of Hedi Klum's. I feel the square hairline looks more masculine and have always desired a more rounded hair line that makes my face look more oval, like that of Angelina Jolie's. Is there a way to achieve this? If so, how much would it cost?
Answer
Hairline shape may be mildly adjusted with a hairline type of incision. Portion of forehead skin that creates square shape may be removed and hair-baring portion of scalp moved more distally. If you consider that your forehead is too high than entire hairline may be moved down creating a more round shape that you like. The scar is placed along hairline in a zig-zag fashion which makes it barely noticeable. Use of hair grafts to shape hairline is option as well. You should consult a board certified plastic surgeon and discuss your options. Good luck.

What you are looking for does make sense aesthetically. A rounder hairline is more youthful and feminine appearing. This could be accomplished with a hairline lowering forehead lift. This requires a partial hairline incision over the forehead centered on each side over the outer eyebrow. The scalp is then advance foreward laterally creating a rounder look. This can raise your outer brow as well if that is what you would like. The ultimate scar on each side is partially in the lateral scalp hair and along the lateral forehead hairline.

The center of the hairline can be ready raised surgically. Or, you might even consider laser hair removal of an arc of hair so the center of your hairline is higher.

A more rounded hairline can be achieved by using the irregular trichphytic hairline lowering technique I described many years ago or some hair transplants if minimal change is necessary. I'm sorry but I cannot estimate the cost without knowing how much needs to be done.
