I believe the permanent stitch around my areola has shifted or popped. I have an open wound under my nipple. What can be done?

It is difficult to definitively determine what the issue is without a photo, but it sounds like a small area of your incision has opened. This area likely will heal without further issues with the proper wound care. I recommend that you contact your plastic surgeon for a follow-up appointment as soon as possible to begin caring for this area. Good luck!

You should see your surgeon for an evaluation and recommendations on wound care, even more so if you had an augmentation at the same time.  If your suture popped or released, you are going to have stretching of your scar to some degree.  Timing to repair this will depend on a lot of things, including your surgeon's judgment.  It the suture pulled through the tissue, re-doing it seems like it will also fail again.  So be careful with how your proceed from this point forward.
