Usually, most of the deep sutures that are placed dissolve on their own. Sometimes, the sutures will work their way to the surface. We call this a spitting suture. With removal of the offending suture and standard wound care,these usually resolve on their own. If, however, this is a permanent suture placed around the areola, this may need to be removed. I would recommend you go back and see your chosen plastic surgeon.
