I don't recommend an anti-bacterial face wash after microneedling. A gentle cleanser like CeraVe or Elta MD Facial Foaming cleanser are both great.
Directly after microneedling, you will want to avoid harsh cleansers while the skin is healing. Choosing a gentle hydrating cleanser such as CeraVe or Alastin's Ultra Calm Cleansing Cream is ideal for post-treatment skin.
The skin after a microneedling procedure is extremely sensitive. I would recommend a sensitive facial wash and plenty of sun care. Best, Dr. Emer
Hi, My recommendations for a cleanser post microneedling would be more of a gentle cream type cleanser that is not drying to the skin. Most antibacterial washes are quite harsh and drying. If you are concerned about infection due to the microneedling procedure, have it done with a reputable medical professional and taking care to avoid touching the face post proceedure are two things you can and should do. We naturally have all sorts of natural bacteria on our face that is protective and antibacterial soaps are not discriminating in terms of what they kill, so overall you are better off not using post proceedure, or at all for that reason. I hope that helps, Dr. Heskett
Thank you for your question! An affordable anti-bacterial face wash that can be used is hibiclens; however, it is NOT necessary to use an antibacterial face wash post microneedling. We suggest just using a gentle cleanser of your choice such as CeraVe, Cetaphil, Vanicream, etc. Just make sure there are NO acids or exfoliants in the cleansers you are using and that you are always applying a sunscreen in the morning. Hope this helps!
A post microneedling cleanser should be gentle and hydrating to aid in the healing process. Choose a dermatologist recommended brand like CeraVe or Cethaphil. Best of luck with your treatment!

There should be no reason why microneedling would not be able to be done. Consult with your physician prior to any cosmetic procedures. -Dr. Emer
Hi, great question! RPMs or how fast the needles are oscillating in and out of the skin makes a difference both in discomfort as you stated, but also in the number of holes made in the skin over time. So at higher rpms you are going to be able to get more punctures, in a shorter amount of time...
