Finding a new doctor for Round 2 BBL after death of surgeon?

Question

I had a bbl and lipo in August 2012. I had a bbl done in August of last year. The results were good, but I'm not satisfied. I spoke to my doctor and he stated, i should wait a little over a year to really determine whats staying. He stated we could always do a touch up at a cheaper rate. Well, a year just came and I have lost so much fat, I also just found out my Dr. passed in a skiing accident. What are my options? Do I HAVE ANY?

Hello, and thank you for reaching out to us.Do not worry, you still have options.  If you still possess enough fat around your abdomen, you are certainly a candidate for another Brazilian butt lift.Make sure you research surgeons who are board-certified and specialize in the BBL.  They should be able to provide you with many before-and-after pictures. When done correctly, a BBL
should give you great and permanent results. It should be unusual for you to
lose most of your fat, but unfortunately, I revise many BBLs from other
surgeons and see it all the time. This loss of fat is most likely technique related.
A second BBL is certainly an option as long as you have enough fat left to
donate to yourself. I find that fat survival the second time around is usually even better, so having another BBL is certainly possible. Make
sure to do your research and find a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who is an
expert at BBLs. He/she should do at least 6 per week and be able to show you
over 100 of his/her own before and after pictures. You don't want to have to do
this again.

Yes, you absolutely still have options. We estimate approximately 60% of the fat is lost in a fat transfer, so it's not uncommon that you would like a revision. I would recommend meeting with another plastic surgeon in your area who has experience with BBLs to better evaluate your result and your options moving forward. Good luck!

About 25% of the BBLs I perform are revisions.  They are more difficult so make sure the surgeon does these all the time.I perform about 500  Brazilian buttlifts each year, and this   
procedure is the most surgeon dependent plastic surgery procedure.  Find
 a  plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of   
Brazilian buttlifts each year.  Then look at the plastic surgeon's   
website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can

It is always more difficult to obtain fat for transfer during a secondary operation due to scar tissue from the first. If you have adequate fat deposits left you can undergo a secondary operation. I would have to meet you in person or see photos to advise you further.Good Luck

Only during a consultation (vivid or through photos) it would be possible to tell if you are candidate for a secondary liposuction in order to harvest fat for a second round of fat grafting into your butt.FG done with a good technique, is expected to lose in between 20-30% of the fat and should  remain for may years unless you lose a lot of weight or lose a lot fat through a very strict diet or exercise.have a great journeyDr. Cardenas
