As an advanced contortionist, would I be able to have larger breast implants? (Photo)

Of course you can get large implants. But from the photos you show, very impressive by the way, I can’t imagine they would be very comfortable. It appears you put tremendous pressure on your chest with the moves you show. Every contortionist I’ve ever seen is very small breasted.   I can’t imagine doing what you do with large implants.

Hello, thank you for your question. Yes you can have implants, A board certified plastic surgeon will be able to guide you to the correct size implant. Based upon measurements of your chest wall and breast imprint width as well as knowledge of all breast implant sizes and profiles should make this process easy. Try on a profile bra with various silicone sizers your PS recommends under a tailored blouse, tank top, bikini, workout clothes, and other garments you typically wear so that you have the best idea of whether the garments fit as desired with the implant selected. Select the size that boosts your self-esteem, and fits your anatomy. Choosing an implant based on an aesthetic goal that exceeds your anatomic capacity may lead to complications and possibly revision later in life.

I recommend an in person evaluation by a plastic surgeon to be measured and discuss your goals. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of former patients with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. My patients tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size breast implant is right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the implants have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved.

Thank you for your question. I have performed thousands of breast augmentations, many on extreme athletes. You should be able to continue your normal contortion activities with some mild modifications. Best wishes to you. 

Good morning!I would recommend submuscular silicone gel implants, and we would determine the size by measuring your chest, reviewing photos together, and having you try on the implant sizers here in the office. I see no reason you can't have what you want and love them- I have many patients with active lifestyles- fitness models, aerial acrobats, bodybuilders, professional kite surfer etc., and they love them!

No one can guarantee that you will be happy with any implants, and the same can be said for everyone, contortionist or couch potato. You'll need to be examined and have a full discussion in general.  However, the decision about the right implant to choose would not be affected by your job, with the exception that you may need revision surgery. 

Thank you for sharing your question.  Assuming your breast dimensions permit for a larger implant placement you should be able to achieve your goals with a sub muscular placement.  Hope this helps.

Breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

Larger implants are possible in most women, but your anatomy and post-operative goals will limit the final result. Some bodies will accept larger implants, but excessively large implants can negatively affect your activities and overall shape. This may have a negative impact on your body's function, considering the extreme stress you will create. However, the vast majority of patients can return to full activities within months of their surgery. You should see a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area to get a formal opinion through an in-person consultation.

While an augmentation is possible, no one can guarantee that it wouldn't make your contortions uncomfortable. Under the muscle is not what many surgeons would advise with your activities.Following advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you what to do based on limited photos without taking a full medical history and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure and each type of implant would not be in your best interest. I would suggest that you find a surgeon certified by the American Board of American Plastic Surgery and one who is ideally a member of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person.
