Hard bumps on surface of neck, 1 week post Ultherapy. Is this normal? (photos)

Seven days post-Ultherapy with new provider, the resulting hard, welt-like lumps on my neck which I left the office with have not resolved. Doctor says this is “normal” response. I’ve had Ultherapy in the past (2+ years ago) and have never had a response like this. Please advise.

Yes, bumps and/or swelling can be typical after Ultherapy and will gradually resolve over a few weeks. Keep in mind, a combination approach would give the most improvement with Ultherapy. I recommend Ultherapy with RF treatments, lasers, microneedling/PRP or sculptra to get increased collagen, tightening and improve skin tone. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Thanks for your question. Ulthera recommends avoiding ice to the treated area  because Ultherapy works by triggering inflammation creating new collagen. However using ice for a few minutes once or twice should not alter your result, but should be minimized bumps.  Please see your provider if the bumps don’t go away after several weeks.
