Should I get lip flip before or after rhinoplasty?

Question

From what ive read a nose job will make my philtrum appear longer so I want get a lip flip(botox) to hide that effect. My rhinoplasty procedure is in 2weeks. When is the best/safest time for me to get lip botox?

In most cases, a lip lift and rhinoplasty can be effectively performed together. However, you should definitely pick an experienced surgeon due to importance of understanding the limitations, particularly regarding alar base reduction.

The lip flip procedure using Botox causes very minimal displacement of the pink lip upwards. In some people it can lead to difficulty with speech or using a straw. A rhinoplasty does always make the philtrum appear longer.  I recommend you do the rhinoplasty and then wait to consider what you want to do with the lip later.

It is not likely that rhinoplasty would make columella longer? Without in person consultation or at least, series of good photos,  it is impossible to suggest whether you need a lip lift. That is something you should discuss with your surgeon ahead of surgery. Many surgeons like to separate these two procedures but they may be safely performed together in selected patients. Hello and thank you for your question. I would recommend waiting at least six months for the swelling to settle before doing a lip flip.   Many patients end up not needing this after surgery.
