Hello,It’s great that you’re taking steps to enhance your lips and skin! However, when combining treatments, timing is crucial to avoid complications.Healing Period: After getting lip threads, your skin needs adequate time to heal. Threads create controlled trauma in the tissue, and applying a CO2 laser too soon may interfere with the healing process or cause unnecessary irritation.Avoiding the Lip Area: It’s generally recommended to avoid treating the lips directly with CO2 laser so soon after thread placement. The surrounding areas can be treated, but direct application on the lips might increase the risk of inflammation or complications.Consult Your Provider: Since every case is unique, I recommend discussing this with your doctor to evaluate how your healing is progressing. If necessary, delaying the laser for a few more weeks may be beneficial.
Any hot treatments such as CO2 lasers, hot sauna, hot tub and IPL lasers should not be used on smooth or barbed PDO threads for at least a month.
Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments.
