It appears that your scar healing process has been disrupted by one of several factors. It would be helpful to have it evaluated in person by a good physical exam and a review of the operative report to determine which suture material was used and be certain to avoid it in the future. I use a very special suture material for abdominoplasty closure that in my opinion gives the best scar result.
Thank you for your pictures and questions. Sorry to hear you are still struggling with problems. What many patients attribute to "allergy to stitches" is usually not that at all. It is usually infections, inflammation, tension, or some other factor causing the problem. You obviously had some issues with tension and with wound healing and that is why you are left with your current scar. I would not consider any revision procedures while you are still dealing with healing wounds. I would encourage you to wait until at least one year out from surgery before considering any revision procedures. And make sure you only consult with plastic surgeons who are board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery!Good luck!Dallas R. Best to seek a few in person evaluations with ONLY boarded private practice PSs in South FL. Revision fees range from $5,000$7,000. I might offer series of postop ozone therapies to help avoid infections.
I recommend you wait at least 1 year post-abdominoplasty and then have excision and revision of your entire scar. Once this heals and matures, you should experience an excellent final result. Best wishes to you.
