Would 800cc implants be a good size for me? (Photos)

To appropriately discuss implant size and choice, you really need an in person evaluation by a plastic surgeon with good experience with breast augmentation. Opinions and preferences will vary somewhat from one surgeon to another surgeon. Personally I start with the base width of the patient as the starting point for the footprint of the future implant. Tissue characteristics, and desired postoperative size, and patient anatomy all factor in to the proper selection of implant volume as well as profile. I go over all of that all in detail with my patients at the time of their consultation.
With all of that being said, I think 800 cc would be way too large. It would definitely not look natural.
It does not mean that it cannot be done, but it will definitely stretch out the tissues very significantly and likely create fairly significant problems down the road in terms of that stretch on the tissue, thinning out the tissue, and would likely lead to significant sagging of the breasts over time. I would recommend for sure talking through all of that in detail with your potential surgeon.

I would recommend consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon with good experience in this area. He or she can thoroughly review the options with you so that you can make a good and well-informed mutual decision.

Thanks for your question! I think that 800cc's would be very large on your frame and definitely not "natural". If you are looking for large but natural, I would expect something in the 500cc range to be a better fit for you. Please make sure that you are visiting with board-certified plastic surgeons.

After analyzing your case I can say 800 cc implants are way too big for you. I agree with your doctor who said this size would rip and sag your breast. I think you could get 450-500 implants with a lift, for a pearkier look.

You will go past the natural look with 800 cc implants. This is currently the largest size gel implants on the market, meaning they are quite large. The larger the implant the more issues that tend to happen after surgery. All that being said, you ultimately should decide the size that is right for you after consultation. As always, be sure to research who performs your surgery to ensure the best likelihood of a positive result.

After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size and style breast implant is right for them. Tall women with larger frames and broader chest, shoulders, and hips can often handle larger implants that would make smaller women's chests look overcrowded and heavy.
None of the modalities to approximate final results from breast implants are 100% accurate; they merely facilitate the patient and the board certified PS concurring on the size and type of breast implant which will come the closest to reaching the patient's goal.
My patients prefer to try on implant sizers under garments they typically wear (workout tops, bikini, tight sweater, low cut dress) to determine if they fit as expected and help allay some of their trepidation associated with this decision. I would recommend that you go with the size that boosts your self-esteem, and fits your anatomy.

I perform over 200 XL augmentations a year- more than anyone else in the U.S. When done properly, they do not have any higher complication rate than smaller implants- although undoubtedly you will receive many answers online condemning XL implants, shaming you, and discouraging you from proceeding. I say get what you really want- I would measure your chest, we would review photos together, and finally you would try on the implant sizers here in the office to determine the exact size and profile you need to achieve your goals, and if 800cc is the answer then 800cc it is! I actually placed 800cc twice yesterday- once for a patient from California and another from the state of Washington.

Unfortunately, you may be under the impression that you can pick any size implant to achieve any conceivable goal. This is incorrect, and is the number one reason complication and re-operation rates are so high. There is an objective, reproducible way to determine your maximum anatomic capacity by making a few simple measurements of your breasts. For many women that number rarely exceeds 500cc, and for most it rarely exceeds 600 cc. The width of your breast, the quality of your skin, and the position of your inframammary fold all impose a restriction on how far you can augment. Rippling and sagging would be the least of your problems, and more than likely severe deformities like double bubble and symmastia would occur. 'Internal bras' are for the correction of an already augmented breast, not as a precautionary measure in a primary augmentation, and regardless, are designed to fix dropout/malposition only. For those who have large goals in mind, step wise, serial augmentation is a possibility that can allow for large implants to be placed in a revision surgery. If the thought of revision surgery of any kind is not palatable to you, then you should not be thinking of this size augmentation; even when it goes well you, will be subject to multiple operations to correct problems as they come up every few years.

800 cc implants weigh over 1 1/2 lbs each, will not fit under the muscle and will descend resulting in large low breasts. More important than implants is a lift. Your breasts are low on the chest wall. The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired. Implants are not lifetime devices. 8% fail within the first year and 30% fail within six years. Fat transfers are permanent and incorporated into the body.
