Thank you for your pictures.  It would be unusual to have a hematoma this far out.  Only a physical exam can differentiate a hematoma from an area of fat necrosis.  Please keep close follow up with your plastic surgeon.Good luck.

Thank you for your question and the photographs you have posted. It is not uncommon to have some issues with drainage from some areas after breast reduction procedure. Your breasts are still substantially bruised and some oozing can occur. Make sure that you have a good scar and wound management regime and wear a good supportive sports bra.Fat necrosis can occur in any breast and is a fairly common occurrence. However you should wait for the wound to settle and give it time. I find application of Arnica gel and intake of Arnica tablets to be an useful adjuncts in reducing bruising and discolouration.Any open area along the stitch line can be dressed with a twinge of antibiotic ointment with some gauze and tape.Avoiding overactivity, giving adequate rest and not smoking are all useful in helping the healing process.As the wound heal massage with a good moisturising cream would be certainly be a huge help as well.Best of luck in your healing process.
