I am exactly 7 months post op. My nostrils are obviously very different. They were not like this before. Initially they both resembled my right nostril. The doctor shortened my nose and inserted spreader grafts. I am very depressed.

Answer: Nostril asymmetry following rhinoplasty Nostril asymmetry and some degree of notching is normal in the early post-operative period following rhinoplasty through an open approach. In the photo, it appears very subtle and I would recommend waiting a full year to see if it will resolve to your satisfaction. If not, revisional surgery to address the asymmetry can be performed.
