7 months post septorhinoplasty - will this nostril asymmetry get any better? (photos)

I am exactly 7 months post op. My nostrils are obviously very different. They were not like this before. Initially they both resembled my right nostril. The doctor shortened my nose and inserted spreader grafts. I am very depressed.

It is premature to assume you’ve already achieved your full results. However, if after a full year you are still unsatisfied with the results, I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with a strong rhinoplasty portfolio. Revision rhinoplasty can solve any asymmetry issues. Your surgeon will evaluate your nose, recommend the best surgical approach to address your concerns and goals, and help ensure the best possible outcome.

Thank you for your question. It's difficult to assess your nostrils from this photo but at 7 months postop I would not expect a drastic change. Yes, some swelling continue to improve. There are lots of things that can be done to improve nostril asymmetry so don't worry! They can all be done using the closed / scarless approach. I wish you all the best.

Nostril asymmetry and some degree of notching is normal in the early post-operative period following rhinoplasty through an open approach. In the photo, it appears very subtle and I would recommend waiting a full year to see if it will resolve to your satisfaction. If not, revisional surgery to address the asymmetry can be performed.
