Can average 55 year old yield results from Ultherapy? Looking for price points in the FL panhandle on Brow, neck, face.

We tested the Ultherapy machine on my patients and myself. Initial results were disappointing.  I then treated patients and myself at full power,  Very painful and disappointing.  The company said I was not using it properly so I had them come in and treat me at full power.  Disappointing.  Some patients thought they saw some improvement, but I did not see any with my critical eye.  At great financial loss, I sold my machine and had it go to Hong Kong.  I could not in good conscience provide an expensive treatment in which I could not pre determine which patients would benefit and which would not.Maybe others have the magical touch that I and the company representative do not possess.

Thank you for your question!  Ultherapy is a great option as a non-invasive facelift procedure to rejuvenate and tighten the skin on the face, forehead, neck and décolletage with no downtime.  Ultherapy administers ultrasound guided energy to specific depths of skin and muscle which causes tissue tightening and collagen production.  New collagen is generated over 2-3 months and full results are seen after 3-6 months.  To optimize results, Dr. Casas and her team will recommend an appropriate diet, supplements, lasers and a topical skincare routine. 

Ultherapy is a great device for skin tightening, but keep in mind, a combination approach would give the most improvement with Ultherapy. I recommend Ultherapy with RF treatments, lasers, microneedling/PRP, J Plasma, nova threads or sculptra to get increased collagen, tightening and improve skin tone. Cost will vary. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question! Ultherapy can potentially be helpful. Ultherapy uses the body’s own regenerative response to gently and gradually lift skin on the eyebrow, under the chin, and on the neck, and smooth lines and wrinkles on the décolletage.
Keep in mind that every patient is different and results can not always be guaranteed. I would suggest have an in-office consultation and discuss your expectations with your doctor. They may recommend Ultherapy, or perhaps they feel another product/procedure would be more beneficial for you.

As with all forms of noninvasive skin tightening, ulthera works best on healthier skin.  However, that health is determined far less by your chronologic age than by your 'skin age'.  Skin age increases markedly with sun exposure and cigarette smoking.  Other things that play into it to a lesser degree are your general health, medications, weight and genetics.  A benefit of ultherapy for patients with poorer quality skin is that the microfocused ultrasound can be targeted to hit fibrous tissue below the skin itself.  That means that there is the possibility of lifting even if the skin itself is not great.Regarding your age -- 55 is a very common age for patients getting ultherapy.  Some have it to put off a first or second face lift.  For others it is the natural next step to other antiaging treatments like fillers and fractionated resurfacing.  Still others who have had nothing done previously but are not considering a face lift will do it knowing that the results aren't surgical but will be helpful.  Whether it is the right treatment for you -- and what other therapies can be using in combination to maximize your results -- will be determined during your consultation with your dermatologist.  I hope this answer was helpful.  Best wishes.
