Answer: Lip Filler and MTX Hi Wepner1! Good news--you are still able to get lip filler while on MTX for RA! There should not be any side effects combining the two. Best of luck to you!

Answer: If I am in 25mg a week of Methotrexate for RA can I get lip filler? Hello, And thank you for your question. There are no large studies that demonstrate that it's not safe to receive HA based lip fillers while being on Methotrexate. I would recommend an in person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon and your Rheumatologist, in order to discuss your goals and concerns for the best cosmetic results. I hope this helps. Best regards, Dr. Karanetz Dr. Irena KaranetzFellowship-TrainedBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Lip augmentation Dear Wepner1, your therapy should have no effects on lip fillers. I typically use Juvederm for my lip sculpting. There are two main focuses of lip injections, adding volume and actually sculpting the shape. Both involve injecting the filler in different areas of the lips and patterns. I would recommend finding a plastic surgeon to perform you lip injections. Most of my patients have results that last at least 6 months. Answer: Yes There should not be any side effects combining the two. I would still consult with your doctor and confirm that you are not on any medications that could cause complications, but fillers usually do not have many contraindications.
