I have a slight double chin that bothers me because I am already very thin. I'd love to get rid of it but don't actually want all of it gone, because it softens off my somewhat pointy chin and I feel like a very, very slight one would work with my face. I've read that it takes 3-4 treatments to see results. If I'm not looking to get rid of all of it and already don't have much fat, how likely would I be able to achieve my desired results with only 1-2 treatments?
Answer: Kybella for Slight Double Chin? Dermatologist Can Estimate Treatment Schedule If you only want to remove a small amount of fat, it is possible that two treatments of Kybella, which melts submental fat with deoxycholid acid, would be enough. The nice thing about Kybella is that you take a break of about 2-3 months between treatment sessions, which gives you an opportunity to preview your results. You can stop whenever you feel you’ve reached your target. Consulting a board-certified dermatologist will give you a better idea of how many treatments you may need.

Answer: Kybella to Treat Slight Double Chin Thank you for the detailed question. One of the benefits of Kybella is the ability to be creative and customize the treatment to what the patient is looking for. You can buy one treatment at a time until you get the desired affect. I also suggest trying to space the treatments out fair enough a part to see the full effect of one treatment. I recommend seeing an expert injector in-person to discuss your goals and determine the best treatment plan for you. For more information please visit our webpage.

Answer: Kybella for slight double chin Thank you for your question about Kybella. Your questions are all great! Kybella does permanently melt the existing fat cells, however you produce new fat cells if there is weight gain. Kybella is made of deoxycholic acid, and works by dissolving fat cells. You will immediately see the effects of this fat dissolving action, as your under chin area will begin to feel very "jiggly" and you will have some slight swelling as this chemical reaction takes place. As for downtime, there really isn't much. You will typically have swelling in the area for a few days, and it is possible to have slight bruising. The full effect of the treatment isn't typically evident for about 8-10 weeks, and treatments should be scheduled about 8-10 weeks apart. To be sure, see two or more experienced, licensed and board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.

Answer: Kybella for "double chin" Thank you for your question. The two best options for excess fat in the submental area are Kybella, liposuction or a face lift. Kybella is a great option for the patient who has some extra submental fat and does not want surgery. Liposuction can work very well to remove this excess fatty tissue and give patients a more refined jaw line. Patients with excess skin and neck bands along with the excess fat are better candidates for a face lift. The best thing to do is see a board certified plastic surgeon who is an ASAPS member in your area to explore all the available options. Best of luck.

Answer: Kybella: Double chin Dear krs256, Thank you for your question. Kybella can be a reasonable option to help treat the fatty tissue under your chin. We usually recommend to patients that it may take up to 3 treatments or more to see the results they are seeking. Depending on your chin and neck areas, it is possible you may require less number of treatments, but it is difficult to tell without an in-person assessment. I recommend you seek further evaluation with a facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon where they can provide a thorough examination and discuss with you the best treatment options as well as expected results.
