This is a 26-year-old woman who had a cesarean section several years ago and was unhappy with the scar she was left with. It was wide, thickened in some areas, and indented. She reported that the contour deformity would actually show through bathing suits.

The only modality that would improve the appearance of this indented and deforming scar was complete revision and creation of a new scar wtih the tissues lined up better. It is simply a matter of using careful technique with attention to repairing the various layers as they normally are anatomically.

This 45-year-old man came in asking for improvement in the appearance of his lower face scar. The scar had been bothering him for more than 10 years, and he finally decided to do something about it.&nbsp;

Face Scar Revision

She needed an abdominal wall reconstruction after a major intra-abdominal catastrophe. She had a large wound that had been allowed to heal on its own over the course of several months. I decided that the best way to reconstruct her was to put the muscles of her tummy back where they belonged. In doing so, I was also able to remove the large scar on her tummy and reapproximate her skin back where it had originally come from. This also allowed me to put her belly button back where it belonged.

This patient in her 20s suffered severe motor vehicle trauma to the abdomen and required multiple life-saving orthopedic and general surgery procedures.  She was referred to me several years later to repair the depressed, tethered scars and wide rectus muscle diastasis.  The postoperative photos were taken at the one year follow-up appointment.
