He was content with the majority of facial aging, but did wish to improve his profile, jowls, and the turkey neck that presented over the past decade.We decided in consultation to perform a necklift and lower facelift under local anesthesia in our office (utilizing only mild oral sedation with valium).Incisions were made in front and behind the ears along with one small one under his chin. Most sutures were removed at one week. Procedure time for his procedure was slightly over two hours time.His results demonstrate marked improvement of his profile and jawline while maintaining a natural and masculine appearance.

Woman treated with Facelift, Neck Lift - What is the meaning of an extended deep plane facelift and neck lift?As many of our well educated patients understand, a deep plane facelift technique is carried out by performing surgical dissection in the plane deep to the SMAS tissue layer and the platysma muscle.As a result of this dissection, ligaments are released in the cheek and the lateral neck to allow for greater mobilization of the deep structures and therefore a more natural result.When the term extended is used to describe the type of deep plane surgery, it means that the dissection is carried out in this tissue plane all the way to the edge of the nose, and the edge of the mouth. This allows for the most extensive release possible, which results in improvement in the nasolabial fold, the marionette line, and even a very nice improvement in the ogee curve.These improvements occur along with sharpening of the jawline definition, tightening of the neck, and lifting of the jowls.Dr. David Harley is a board-certified facial plastic surgeon who specializes exclusively in facial rejuvenation procedures.Dr. Harley performs extended deep plane facelift and neck lift procedures, along with blepharoplasty, brow lift, and lip lift surgery, under local anesthesia in the office setting.These procedures are performed daily on patients around the country who travel in for their surgeries.We are grateful to this patient, and to the many others who have generously offered to share their photos.

He had attempted a few different non-surgical options without significant result.Pre-op examination demonstrated severe laxity and fat deposition underneath his chin. Note that he did have a pre-exising vertical scar next to his left eye along with a pre-existing indentation above his ear from wearing eyeglasses.We decided together to perform a necklift and lower facelift under local anesthesia (with only mild oral sedation with valium) in the office.
