Approximately 1 year ago I had a facelift, necklift and upper and blepharoplasty. At this time I still have numbness on the left side of my face from ear to mid-face. In addition, I also have puckering under my chin. Two questions is the numbness permanent and what can be done about puckering. From pictures you can see left side of chin below mouth doesnt move as much as right.
I had a face & neck lift about 16 months ago and am still experiencing numbness where my neck meets my jaw. It is better than right after the procedure but still very uncomfortable. Is this still within normal expectations or am I stuck with this issue?
I am a 53 year old woman, 6 years post op from a lower facelift and necklift. For 6 years I have an extreme strangulation feeling and numbness on the sides of my face, chin and neck. I have seen dozens of doctors including plastic surgeons, ENT, pain management, PT and neurologist. No one has been able to help. I've tried exploratory surgery, PT, topical ointments, nerve block injections, botox injections, neurontin, muscle relaxers, acupuncture and needling.
I had a neck list last year, had an infection the night I came home, called my dr. who dismisses my pain. I called his office three times in the following weeks but was dismissed by his office staff. The pain was unbearable and I landed in the hospital for a week on pain meds. A year later I am still in terrible pain, cant feel the left side of my face and feel like Im being choked all the time. Is there any dr who has seen this And can tell me there is hope that I will heal.
I had a face and necklift 18 months ago. The results are awesome for my plastic surgeon did a fantastic job. However, my right side of the neck is extremely numb all the way to back of my ear. I do have feeling for thank goodness its not paralyzed. I have scheduled an appointment with a neurologist to see whats going on. At this point I do believe I have permanent nerve damage. Can this numbness spread all over my face causing paralysis?
Neck lift/lower face. Pain temples ears jaw scms - PAIN bilateral temporals, posterior lower jaw, scm with spasms, bilateral numb tragus and discolored 1 fwd. squished ears canals( bilaterally). Think scm too tight, ears too back&low. Wish I went with different surgeon. Pain 1st night of surgery.
I spoke w my surgeon and he has said there is nothing more he can do. My left ear lob is still numb 14 months after my neck lift. Right behind my left ear lobe is a pea sized bump that is painful to touch. My surgeon injected it with a steroid but that has only made it grow larger. I have numbness under my chin and pain. What can be done to resolve the numbness and the pea sized painful bump?
Hi, Im one week post surgery. I cannot smile or talk properly and it doesnt seem to be getting any better at all. Both sides of my chin and bottom lip wont function correctly. My left ear is completely numb as well. I still have a lot of swelling. Im worried it will never subside..my doctor prescribed a steroid pack for me to take down some swelling. Any other advice would be so much appreciated. Thank you.
I'm 60 yrs. old, and I just hate the way my neck is becoming. I had a benign tumor removed from my left parotid gland, which resulted in the complete removal. I assume the surgery went deep, because there's a noticeable depression. I suspect the facial nerve is close to the surface, because when I chew, that side sweats! I just have mild numbness in the earlobe and this has been 8 yrs. ago. I've been told to leave my face alone. But my neck is bothering me with noticeable bands and crepiness; no sagging.
I'm a 31 yo male, and I had a neck lift (platysmaplasty + lipo) 2 months ago. However, about 80% of the affected area is still numb and the right side under my chin is clearly bulkier than left side. I also lost my beard in several areas under my chin and those bare spots are very noticeable. Question #1 Will my beard grow back under my chin? Question # 2 - Can I expect any further improvement on the right side of my chin or am I passed the swelling phase? Thanks in advance!
