Hi I am 6 weeks from my surgery with dr ozcan cackmuk an I have to say that I have healed so well and quicker than I thought I am 49 and had My surgery was on 29 of may 2025 … The in person consultation was long and detailed he has a great eye and is extremely patient. he is not in a hurry to go anywhere.. first he will listen to you and then give you his observations and suggestions . He reviewed the list of procedures he initially discussed over the video consult and the.suggested what he thought would be the best way forward after the in person meeting .. I landed up doing one less procedure because he thought it was not needed so this reassures you that he’s not just intending to add to your bill . I could tell from the consultation that he knows his area is very well. I think I became less anxious after meeting him. His wife Assistant Aycha is lovely and extremely helpful and cooperative… makes you feel at ease … if she hasn’t promptly replied to your messages because she has tons of messages coming away, other than managing her three kids. The following day after the consultation was the day to do all the tests at the hospital I have to say his assistant was so kind and everything happened very quickly. I didn’t have to wait long at all. I just want to suggest you that if you haven’t done a very recent thyroid profile, if you do have thyroid, you could do that in your city before you leave, because the hospital does not do a thyroid profile test. The Assistant did take me to another clinic, however, you would save time be free for the day. The day of the surgery again, I was rather anxious because it obviously was a huge surgery, also you do worry, are you gonna look like someone else? Are you gonna look like a monster? Am I doing the right thing . The hospital was top notch …the hospital staff, nurses and translator organised by the doctor and I have to mention his assistant who will also be assisting him in OT…They are all amazing and will put you at ease . My surgery lasted for about five hours everything went well, but the first 48 hours after that, actually are the worst days . … Aycha will tell you that … come on it’s a surgery …You are encouraged to take a little walk in the corridor, and you must ..you will be a little nauseous, but if you actually threw up, it would help. the nurses are so amazing that you honestly do not need anyone in the hospital. … I had a friend. It’s just because I wanted someone I know and was related to me just for moral support .The nurses land up by your bedside in 20 seconds. If you ring the bell. Please don’t be in shock when you look at your face in the mirror because you will look like a monster. You will look like another person that you do not recognise, but it all settles and I will tell you later in the message when. My face was huge so so stretched that you will wonder. Will this ever become okay? You will most definitely feel weak. I wouldn’t say there will be that much pain, because you will be on pain, killer, but it will be an extremely strange feeling. I didn’t sleep very well, but obviously, because of the anesthesia, I was extremely drowsy and just kept sleeping and waking up. The doctor comes to see you the following day and about noon. In my case, he removed all the netting before I left because my surgery was not, I guess that major because I had lesser laxity … You could expect more discomfort If you have a lot of work done on your neck, so you may need to go to the clinic day 2 but again everything settles in time. You just have to be prepared to feel the worse the first 48 hours after surgery . You are encouraged to allow the nurses to give you a full head to toe shower shampoo , and please let them do that you will feel Cleaner and fresher. That day back in my Airbnb, I just mostly was sleeping. The first two nights post, op of course a little difficult because you need to be sleeping on the back and I am a side sleeper .. on Day 3 I could sit on the table and eat my meal mostly curd , soft rice soup , smoothie …and was less drowsy and felt a little better your swelling, however, will peak on those days and start to reduce only on day 4 … the surgery was on the 29th of may and by 2 June, I could walk around a little bit in the area where I was staying, and I would suggest that you stay in Moda are lots of cute coffee places silver jewellery shops ( elite gumus) to go to will make you feel better. From day 5 it only gets better. I did feel a little tired in the initial days and I needed to come back and rest in the Airbnb, but I could totally walk around. Get some soup.( beyran) … kimyon best beyran … Icecream.. Go to the grocery shop. The doctor checks on you himself and that’s amazing. By the 3-4 th June was so much better even crossed over to the other side was out many hours . my stitches were removed on day 7 and all was well I flew back the same evening... you will still be little bruised and very swollen .. it gets better … The doc is extremely reassuring … In the initial days back home I kept looking at myself face looked huge from the top and like a strange v also your neck will be stiff ears might pain but trust me in 4 weeks everything starts to look better and natural contours will be visible … I went back to work on day 13 with my hair in a loose ponytail covering my ears .. and was out socially in 3.5 weeks . Today at 6 weeks I’m attending a wedding . It gets better and better and looks natural in about 6 weeks … the only part that takes time are the incisions around the nose from a lip lift you can perhaps keep using a scar gel after the doc gives a go ahead and use a sunscreen. You will be able to conceal it at around six weeks. I have only been concealing it the last couple of days because if you try and conceal it before it will look even more prominent but his incisions are so meticulous that now u can barely see anything in the front of my ear . He is a Master at that . !!! So conclusion I’m glad I chose dr cackmuk .. If you wish to look weirdly snatched he’s not your doc .. if you want a good change and look like a better version of yourself and reposition your muscle skin looking all natural do please only choose him .. he’s amazing at his work and is responsible….he’s a good man other than being brilliant and someone who will put your health before anything else. I didn’t need to call him for anything because I just did not want to stupidly call him and ask him. Why am I so swollen Why am I bruised Because please read the reviews you will be swollen You will be bruised you only call him if there is something that you feel which is out of the ordinary and they also give you his personal number. Please stay in moda it’s lovely ..nice to walk around, nice little cafés and can go to the kadikoy pier and also seaside promenade…there is a double tree Hilton else look for an air bnb Ps it’s amazing. He still sends a message to check if everything is okay. Also, we both agreed that we would do the fat transfer once everything settles because I still had some filler on my face that he wishes to dissolve if you need to go back to him for something small. It’s only because sometimes you need to do things in two steps. It’s better than doing it irresponsibly and regretting it… it’s your face after all Important please do not lift your suitcase Dissolve your fillers before you leave… at least a week before or plan with Dr and get him to dissolve it a week before the surgery.
I had the privilege of undergoing multiple procedures with Professor Dr. Ozcan Cakmak, including a facelift with extended neck dissection, brow lift, fat grafting, and rhinoplasty. From the very beginning, he was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. He took the time to understand my concerns and thoroughly explained every step of the process, which made me feel completely at ease. The results have exceeded my expectations. My face looks refreshed, natural, and beautifully balanced—without any signs of overdone work. His artistry and surgical precision are truly unmatched. The recovery was smooth, and his follow-up care was exceptional. I am genuinely thrilled with the outcome and deeply grateful for his expertise. If you are considering facial plastic surgery, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Cakmak. You will be in the hands of a world-class surgeon who truly cares about his patients and delivers outstanding, natural-looking results.
I met with and spoke to a number of surgeons, but the moment I met Dr Cakmak I knew I had found the right surgeon for me. He really looked at me, agreed with my concerns, answered all my questions and filled me with confidence that I would be in safe hands and get the results I sought. I was lucky enough to be able to accept an almost immediate appointment that became available through a cancellation and flew to Turkey within a few days. His team managed the whole process very efficiently. I was met at the airport and driven to my hotel. The next morning I was picked up and driven to the Doctor's rooms for a face to face consultation, taken to the hospital for pre-op tests and delivered back to my hotel. And the following day I was again collected and taken back to the hospital for the surgery. I am told the whole procedure took 9 hours. I had a lower face and neck lift with gland reduction in my neck, lip lift and some fat injections. I stayed in the hospital for that night and was then taken back to my hotel to recover. The first few days after surgery were very uncomfortable. I had originally thought I would cope on my own. In the event I phoned a friend and they flew out to support me through the initial recovery period. Be warned - it is quite tough. But it is definitely worth it. Dr Cakmak's results were better than I could have hoped for. I have waited just over a year before posting this review as I thought a longer view would be useful to people thinking of having this procedure. I can confirm that, after over a year, I am still totally delighted with my results and even this long after the surgery am still seeing on-going improvements. Dr Cakmak is not just a fantastic surgeon - he is an artist, I cannot recommend him highly enough. This was one of the best decisions I ever made.
If you are looking for the best facial plastic surgeon in Turkey, look no further! Dr. Cakmak is the one! I underwent a face & neck lift procedure with Dr. Cakmak and I couldn't be happier with the results. From my initial consultation to the final follow-up, the doctor and his team made me feel comfortable, and cared for every step of the way. Dr. Cakmak took the time to understand my concerns and goals, offering professional advice and a personalized treatment plan. The surgery went well and I was amazed at how natural the results looked – I truly look and feel like a more youthful version of myself and I couldn't be more grateful! He was always available to answer my questions or concerns, even when I called him at 3AM in the morning the day after surgery. He always responded right away and made sure I felt comfortable. He also followed up with me consistently after I left Turkey and made sure I was healing well. The level of expertise, attention to detail, and kindness shown by Dr. Cakmak and the entire office staff were exceptional. I highly recommend him to anyone considering a facelift. His skills and dedication to patient satisfaction are unmatched!
Very happy with the results. Dr Cakmak talked me through the procedures and made me feel at ease. The surgery went very smooth and the anaesthetic was brilliant with no nausea or drowsiness. He provided brilliant aftercare and regularly video called me in the year post op to ensure the healing went well. Thanks for your excellent work Dr Cakmak
A month ago, I had a deep plane face and neck lift with Prof. Çakmak. At 45 years old, I have some signs of aging and wanted a more preventative approach, to maintain a youthful look for longer. But my main concern was the heaviness in the neck that had always been there, due to genetics but that was also exacerbated by age. Prof. Çakmak performed an extended neck dissection where he removed some of the deeper structures - such as the submandibular glands - while contouring the muscles and tightening the skin. The results are beyond anything I could have hoped for. My neck and jawline are so sleek and defined, yet feminine. My nasolabial folds, another big concern of mine, are practically gone. Another perk that I didn't expect was that my undereye area tightened thanks to the deep plane technique, without needing a lower bleph. A quite important note here is that I have type 1 diabetes. So there is always a fear around undergoing elective surgery with a condition like this. I worried about what would happen if I got a hypoglycemic episode while under general anesthesia, if I was at higher risk of infection, and if my wound healing would be slower. But the team at the hospital ensured I was not only reassured and safe, they also took great care of my blood sugar levels from start to finish so that I did not have any issues while recovering from the surgery. A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Aycha and the entire team at Prof. Çakmak's clinic. They were so welcoming and empathetic. I traveled to Istanbul alone from Switzerland and felt insecure at first, but everyone made me feel at home. I was very touched by their hospitality and kindness. Mai
I recently had a male deep plane facelift, a subtle rhinoplasty, and fat grafting performed by Dr. Özcan Çakmak, MD, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Two months post-surgery, the outcomes are truly shining through, and I’m beyond impressed. At 43 years old, I feel like I look at least a decade younger—especially now without my beard—while maintaining my masculinity and natural features. That was my biggest concern going into the procedure: I wanted a refreshed look without losing the proportions and standards of male beauty. Dr. Çakmak exceeded all my expectations. He carefully tailored his approach to suit a male aesthetic, ensuring I still look like myself, just more rejuvenated. Some people might think 43 is young but I want to stay looking like I am in my 30's forever, not wait until I am 60 and look 50!!! My key objectives were clear—I wanted to maintain my masculinity, address a sagging neck (which kept me hiding behind a beard), and fix issues with my cheek envelope caused by a previous botched surgery. Dr. Çakmak executed this perfectly. The care and precision he demonstrated were evident from the very first day. I had been worried about scars near my ears, but they were almost invisible immediately thanks to his expert use of microscopic sutures. Even now, two months later, the scars are barely noticeable—a true testament to his skill. What sets Dr. Çakmak apart from other surgeons I’ve encountered, including some renowned names in the U.S., is the amount of time and attention he dedicates to his patients. He spent countless hours with me before the surgery, carefully going over every detail to ensure we were aligned on the desired outcome. His thoroughness and genuine interest in understanding my concerns gave me incredible peace of mind. Post-surgery, Dr. Çakmak was equally attentive. We’ve been in frequent contact throughout the healing process, and he’s always been approachable with any questions or concerns. It’s clear that holistic patient care is as important to him as achieving outstanding surgical results. I also want to commend his team, who provided excellent care during my hospital stay. They were kind, professional, and made me feel supported throughout the process. Overall, I feel incredibly lucky to have found Dr. Özcan Çakmak. The time he invests in the operating room and his patient-first approach lead to results that are not just natural but transformative. I can’t recommend him enough and will absolutely return to him for any future procedures.
I'm incredibly grateful that I found Dr Cakmak to perform my DP FL, NL, Brow lift, lip lift, fat transfer and TCA peel. It was a huge leap of faith to traveling from Australia to Kadikoy, Istanbul, for a 7 hour operation. The whole process was seamless and I always felt like I was in good hands. Dr Cakmak and his team are not only highly skilled and professional, but kind and compassionate people. I was concerned about my bruising and swelling after my procedure but Dr Cakmak was always available to talk me through what to expect and the different stages of recovery. I really had to put my absolute faith in him and he never let me down. I'm now 2 and a half months post op and I still look like me, just refreshed and younger. It's taken until now for my face to settle and all swelling to subside. Many people have told me I look like I'm in my 30's or early 40's, I'm 57. Dr Cakmak is very passionate about what he does, I spent a lot of time with him at his office and I never felt like I was being rushed or I was asking too many questions of him. He is thorough, professional and a true gentleman. I would like to thank Aycha, Dr Cakmaks assistant. When I had my consultation with Dr Cakmak, we decided not to go ahead with a blepharoplasty and Aycha organized a full refund. Thank you again Dr Cakmak, Aycha, Can and Ranah.
He is AWESOME! I had a total face make over, and he and his staff were super great. even when I returned to the states he still continues contact and follow up. I would not go anywhere else for face surgery. I would 100% recommend him to all for face and nose surgery.
I am incredibly thankful to Dr. Cakmak for performing my surgery. At 42, I was tired of using fillers to combat the natural aging of my lower face. These products were costly and left me looking bloated, not to mention feeling constantly tired and unhappy with my neck's appearance. Dr. Cakmak was not only honest and kind but also addressed all my concerns. Following my deep plane facelift and lip lift two months ago, I easily appear over a decade younger. Choosing to undergo this procedure in Turkey was without a doubt the best decision. While I'm considering a brow lift in the future, I'll wait a few more years. Dr. Cakmak's care exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend him!
Although the traditional focus has always been on the subcutaneous fat layer, most patients having poor neck contour may also have various amount of excess deep neck structures contributing to obtuse neck contours. In fact, often it is not enough to perform submental liposuction alone and inappropriate removal of the subcutaneous layer may lead to additional problems such as unpredictable tethering, scaring, and skeletonization of the neck. In such cases, deep neck contouring which includes trimming of the subplatysmal fat, partial removal of additional contributing deep neck structures, such as a prominent anterior belly of the digastric muscles and/or hypertrophied submandibular glands, and additional platysma maneuvers may often be required to achieve optimum results. Opening the neck through a submental incision allows for accurate management of these deep neck structures to create the best neck contour for the patients with an obtuse neck and assists in achieving a desirable smooth neck contour.
It is important that the surgeon understands the relationship of the facial nerve to the anchoring ligaments and the anatomy of the SMAS and subSMAS tissue spaces accurately to perform a safe and successful surgery. Actually, extended techniques such as deep and composite plane facelifts while identifying and preserving the anatomy often leads to lower complication rates than blindly working around vital structures.
In deep and composite facelifts, the flap is undermined as a single unit -including skin, SMAS and malar fat- which provides excellent blood supply to the overlying skin. So, deep and composite facelifts carry much less risk of skin necrosis especially for smokers compared to all other facelift techniques having long skin flap dissection.
Retaining ligaments anchor the dermis, subcutaneous fat and SMAS to the bony periosteum or deep fascia. The role of these ligaments to support facial soft tissues against forces of gravity. The attenuation of retaining ligaments with aging leads downward displacement of soft tissues, and responsible for many of the stigmata that occur with aging. Inadequate release of these retaining ligamentous attachments during facelift prevent the transmission of traction toward mid face which may lead to an unbalanced, unnatural appearance with unopposed nasolabial folds. Additional attempts to improve untreated nasolabial folds such as fat grafting to malar region are more likely to result with a “stuffed look”, “operated appearance”. Extended techniques such as deep and composite plane facelifts involving the surgical release of mid facial ligaments produce combined, balanced, and harmonious rejuvenation of the midface, cheek, and lower face without requiring a separate midface lift procedure.
