My Facelift with Professor Ozcan Cakmak Was Worth Every Cent

WORTH IT
After considerable research, I decided to have my facelift with Professor Ozcan Cakmak. I liked that he didn't do a hard sell on social media and attended many international conferences. He leads upskilling of other surgeons and now I know why. My results are incredible and I consider this decision one of the best of my life.
I travelled to Istanbul two days before the scheduled surgery for pre op tests. I was accompanied by a translator and reassured at every step of the process.
On the day of surgery, a Friday, I was picked up from my hotel, The Grand Wyndham at 6.30am for an 8am start. I underwent a deep plane facelift with extended neck dissection and deep neck conturing through submental incision and submandibular gland removal, a brow lift, an upper lip lift, fat transfer under my eyes, mechanical dermabrasion and chemical peeling.
Before surgery I communicated with Professor Cakmak's wife Aycha, but once I arrived in Istanbul my interactions were with him. Both speak excellent English.
The surgery lasted about 9 hours and on waking afterwards I was brought to my private room at Acibadem Altunizade hospital. I went for a short walk accompanied by nurses that night and consumed some soft food.
I was discharged at 6pm on the Saturday, one day after surgery, back to my hotel where I slept elevated, followed the cleaning and moisturising instructions and took paracetomel and ibuprofen. I continued this for 3-4 days but did not need pain medication after that.
I never really suffered pain, just stiffness and pressure on my head and neck areas. I was bruised but it healed within a week to 10 days. I kept to a soft diet for about 10 days - added bonus I lost 2 kg.
On the Monday, day 4 of my recovery, I walked 10-15 minutes to Professor Cakmak's office from my hotel for examination. I was healing well and continued the regime, also walking each day as much as I could. On day 6 I returned to his office to get my stitches out. I spent most of the week in my room as the chemical peel was unsightly. It was much improved by day 7, the following Friday and on that day, one week after my surgery. I flew home with no problems. I wore a face mask and Professor Cakmak gave me a letter for the airline stating that I was fit to fly.
I returned to working remotely the following Monday - 10 days post surgery but kept my camera off for that week. On the following Monday, 17 days post surgery, I resumed zoom calls and nobody noticed anything different about me. That is exactly what I wanted.
Since then I have improved all the time. Now 6 months post surgery, I still have a little numbness on the top of my head but the sides of my face, my ears and neck are all feeling normal.
The reason I got the surgery is that I had lost 30kg plus on a GLP1 and discovered a turkey neck. My husband and closest family members were shocked when they saw the pictures I have attached here and they didn't think it was a bad as I knew it was. They now understand why I wanted to undergo surgery.
My confidence has soared since the operation and I consider it one of the best decisions ever. I was treated with care and respect at every step of the journey and Professor Cakmak still keeps in touch to see how I am doing. It was more expensive that other plastic surgeons charge, but I consider it was worth every cent. A friend described Professor Cakmak as a genius and I agree. His wife described it as his signature on my face so he wants it to be optimal. He has suceeded and I recommend him highly.
I hope this is helpful and I am happy to answer any questions you might have in the comments.
