I had an amazing experience treating my hair loss (something I was so stressed and nervous about) Dr Truong was so profession throughout the whole process and I couldn’t be happier with my results. I have already recommended some friends with similar concerns to go see her ASAP!
I was feeling real self conscious. Dr Truong gave me muscle relaxers in my forehead and between my brows that got rid of my wrinkles making me feel younger and more confident. She is really friendly and made me feel comfortable and trusting of her work.
Hi Lijn. If you are predisposed to hypertrophic scarring, I would be very cautious in undergoing a procedure such as hairline lowering that will involve an even lengthier scar that may be even more apparent than the scar that you currently have. That being said, there are post procedure measures such as steroids and an anti neoplastic agent that inhibits fibroblasts that can be used after the surgery that can help and if the incision is tension free, there can be good results but you have to really weigh out the risks and benefits.
Even though hair transplant is a permanent solution to hair loss, it is still possible to lose hair outside the transplanted areas which can lead to an undesired look as your baldness progresses. Taking minoxidil after a hair transplant can prevent hair loss in the future and help you preserve a head full of hair that you naturally possess. If you are worried about the progression of your hair loss in the future and are unable or unwilling to go through a second hair transplant in the future, taking minoxidil can be the best option for you. Minoxidil works by vasodilation of the capillaries around your hair follicles and will continue to work throughout time. If you have high cholesterol which can block these capillaries or as we age some people's blood vessels harden, the minoxidil will continue to however exert its effects.
If your eyebrows are thick and very low I would say to consider a brow lift. Hair transplant would make your eyebrows even thicker.
PRP requires a time commitment and studies have shown that undergoing a PRP treatment once a month for 3 months, then a treatment at 6 months and 12 months including yearly maintenance works the best.
The brow lift and facelift may have caused shock loss in the hairs that were transplanted from the front 2cm of the scalp especially if a trichophytic incision was used. Less likely in the crown area. In my experience, shock loss as not been permanent. An option would be to use minoxidil or perhaps there could be some separate etiology completely unrelated that may have caused this.
