Dr. Atwood and his staff are top tier! He was the only surgeon out of the several I consulted that genuinely seemed to care about the way I look. When I went in, I asked for a C cup. He was honest with me and told me I didn't have the skin or initial breast tissue for that, however he made me feel very comfortable and confident that what he would do would fit my body proportionately. I was treated well by all the staff members, nurses and anyone I spoke with. Thank you, Dr. Atwood!!
I started coming to Dr. Atwood in 2018 and just 6 weeks ago he done a TT on me. I had weight loss surgery and went from weighing 374lbs to 160lbs so to say my extra skin was out of this world would be an understatement! Dr. Atwood scheduled my TT and may sure I was his only patient that day anticipating a very extreme surgery. He took his time (6 1/2) hours which I am so grateful for!! Than he placed a wound vac on me before leaving the surgery room. This wound vac was absolutely the best thing ever!! It totally did it’s job and my scars at 4 dpo look like they were 6wpo. This man is so caring and comforting with all of his patients. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. He is a man of his word and he stands by his work! So so so blessed to have him as my Plastic Surgeon!! Also his crew in office are absolutely the best so courteous and helpful in every manner. Just love all these people to death!!
I wouldn't change a thing about my experience with Dr. Atwood and his team. They walked me through what to expect with each step along the way and answered all of my questions. If you're looking for a caring, educated, and professional team then I highly recommend! Very Happy!
Dr. Atwood and his staff are wonderful! I had a breast augmentation by another surgeon a year ago. It was very poorly done, and I had Baker Grade 3 capsular contracture. My previous surgeon denied the existence of CC. Dr. Atwood noticed it at my first consultation. He is a very meticulous surgeon, and he and his staff really care about the patients. He did a wonderful job! The whole staff is very caring and they take the time to fully explain all procedures and aftercare. I am very happy with my experience with Dr. Atwood. I would recommend him to anyone!!
hi RS friends! Been reading tt reviews for a few months now so now it's my turn. Been doing hundreds of abdominal's weekly at my local gym, along with swimming, biking , walking. I'm 5-2, 135lbs but can't loose this flabby belly!! So after a lovely visit with my favorite ps Dr. Daniel Atwood in Fayettville, Ar I booked it. It's right around the corner!! Aug 12! So pre-op tomorrow, then I'm on my way to the flat side! After all, if my grandma can get one at 82, I figure I can have one at 59. So here are some before photos, hopefully some after shots the end of the week. Wish me luck!! Updated on 11 Aug 2015: so I had my pre- op with the nurse @ 9 a.m . Photos, Rx's, many instructions, I'm getting pretty nervous! I'm having muscle repair also and it makes recovery slower, ugh!! She said I might not drive for 4 weeks!! I didn't mention the drains to my husband, it would gross him out! So now I'm back for pre-op with Dr Atwood, 2:15. My surgery is tomorrow @ 1 pm, talk to you soon! Updated on 13 Aug 2015: im 24 hrs post -op , surgery went well, late because previous surgery ran late. Compression in place, one drain. Demerol/phenergan on board. I'm doing the Arnica under tongue for swelling also. My ps also injected experel which is a long acting local anesthetic so I'm in good shape!! Still sore, getting out of bed is the worst. Also they recommend 100-120 gms of protein per day and vitamin C for healing. My drain output is 20-25 cc each time I drain it, 3 times a day. So I'm trying to rest , not easy for me! More later with pics! Updated on 15 Aug 2015: doing well!! Not too sore, a little tender. Incision looks good, very little drainage. I want this drain out!!! Still taking it easy! Updated on 19 Aug 2015: i can't believe it's been a week already!! I feel really good, wish I could be more active, not used to sitting around so much but those are the Drs orders! Drain output was 20cc yesterday so I have app. to have removed tomorrow....yippee!! Incision looks normal, steri-strips intact which makes for a finer scar. I have no regrets!!! And no new photos... Sorry!! Updated on 21 Aug 2015: went to p/o visit and drain removal which I didn't feel at all! My output had been 17-20 cc so I guess that's the magic number! Things healing normally, wear cg another week, then can go to a spanx, more comfy I hope! 1st shower 24hrs later, felt great!! Am posting a few pics, still swollen! Updated on 24 Aug 2015: well I drove for the first time today! I did fine! Still have to take it easy but feel great so that makes it tough! Only taking Rx pain med at night, Tylenol in the a. m but that's more for arthritis. I will show photos soon, looks good!! I'm so glad I did this!! :))) Updated on 27 Aug 2015: doing well! Getting rather bored around the house, I go back to work on Monday which will be part-time! Have any of you actually waited the 6 full weeks before resuming exercise ?? That seems a little extreme!! I'm afraid I'm gonna gain a bunch of weight!! :((( here are a few new photos. Laters... Updated on 2 Sep 2015: in a spanx during day/ cg during night. Worked 8 hrs yesterday so wore cg all day. Still swollen along incision line mostly, and numb there also!! Still no regrets! ???? Updated on 2 Sep 2015: trying to post b and a shots! Updated on 9 Sep 2015: 4 wks already girls! It goes by fast and slow!! 2 more weeks and I'm back to normal exercise which I need! I did walk today but not too fast. I feel good and love my flat tummy, not squishy any more! :))) Updated on 18 Sep 2015: well now it's been 5 wks, I'm in a spanx during day, I don't think it works a well as the CG given to me in surgery but it's a lot more comfortable , I will wear the heavy duty one at nite until told I can stop. My 6 wk check is next Thursday, I hope to get a good report. I sure would recommend Dr Atwood to anyone in northwest Arkansas or Little Rock area. Top notch Doc!!! Here are my most recent photos. I still have swelling.... Bahhhh!! Updated on 1 Oct 2015: hi RS friends, sorry it's been awhile! Last week at my 6 wk PS appointment the Doc said I could start working out again which I'm glad about! I think I gained 5 lbs not doing a lot....bahhhh!! So I'm swimming and hitting the gym, no more lazy girl!! I wear the spanx at the gym and at work but not to much more than that. My PS gave me special tape to help scar look better so I've been using it ever since. Here's a few photos. Updated on 29 Oct 2015: I can't believe it's been 2.5 mos!! Feeling back to normal, back to swimming and working out. I'm having a hard time loosing this 5-7 lbs that I need to!! Still feel a little thick around the waist. I wish I would have discussed lipo with my PS but too late now. I have been reading post from others preparing for TT's and buying all kinds of stuff they might not even need! I didn't need a walker, recliner, hospital bed, lady urinal, etc. you might be wasting your money! FYI Here is some pics from today, I still swell some too after exercise.
I was petrified of how I would appear after having mine removed and I was BLOWN AWAY with the results!! I am so happy to get rid of the foreign objects in my body. I feel healthier, happier and have my self confidence back!!! I am free from the 4 years implant prison I had sentenced myself! Here are pictures of my progress on my 2 week anniversary of removal.
Hi all! I have been visiting this site quite often since making the decision to have a breast augmentation. Today was my big day and I'm about 6 hours post op......I had to take a peak of course and noticed that my breasts were cone-shaped and there isn't any fullness on the bottom. I was a 34b and went with 320/350 cc under the muscle silicone implants. Can anybody tell me if this is "normal" looking and if they will settle into a more rounded nice shape? Thank you! I need my nerves calmed :) Updated on 11 Sep 2014: Updated on 13 Oct 2014: I am 5 weeks post op now and loving them! They still need to drop some but I am so happy
I have been a yo-yo dieter most of my adult life. Each time I lost weight, my breasts stayed pretty much the same size. But, when I gained the weight back (plus a few extra pounds) they got larger. Finally, I had reached 38G and my shoulders, back and self-esteem were killing me! In fact, I always felt like my boobs were the first part of me to enter the room. With the encouragement of my husband, I started to research plastic surgery. I found a wonderful surgeon and made an appointment. After a lengthy conversation with both of us, he took me into an examination room. He was very thorough with his exam and told me that he believed that I would have a case for my insurance company to pay for the procedure. After a misunderstanding with them (they first refused the surgery because they thought I was asking for an augmentation! Guess they didn't read very closely) they approved the procedure and would pay 100% as long as it was an outpatient surgery. Everything went very well. I'm extremely pleased with the outcome, even though it has been only a week. I saw my surgeon today and learned that the pathology on the removed tissue has indicated that I have changes that increase my chance of breast cancer 4 times. He referred me to a breast cancer surgeon. According to my plastic surgeon, he will go over all of the genetics (I have a family history of breast cancer) and explain things that I can do to reduce my risk. So, if you or someone you love is considering this surgery, I would recommend that you do it! Why? You will feel better almost immediately! You deserve to NOT be known as 'that girl with the big boobs'! And, you may learn something that will effect your health in the future. Best of luck to those of you who have made the decision to take this step. It is SO worth it! Updated on 5 Jun 2014: It has been 2 1/2 weeks since my reduction. I'm still very pleased. It's so exciting that my breasts no longer hang to my knees (ok, I'm exaggerating). I still have swelling on the sides, but it's going down every day. My incisions are healing nicely and the bruising is almost gone. By the end of the day, I'm pretty tired, but that is improving as well.
Very happy with Dr and staff, make you feel comfortable and explain everything...glad I found this Dr he has 26 years experience Have had mine for about 35 years and they have become hard and slightly painful at times. The right side has ruptured onside the capsule so glad I went in when I did. Surgery is on the 28th of Aug and Dr said it would be under gen anes, and fairly short duration. I have waited so long to get this done and am excited to be finally getting them out. I am 61 and want them out before I have any other issues with them. These are dow corning implants but didnt qualify for the reimbursement because the dr that put them in retired and all his records were eventually destroyed, so after paying 700. to put them in it will cost me 5200. to have them removed. Lesson learned ladies leave your bodies alone and never get implants so not worth the hassle or expense, or uncomfortability (just made that word up lol) Ill let you all know how it goes as I am praying for all of you to have a successful outcome. So happy I found this site and people have been wonderful and we all have something in common and it has helped me immensely to share with all of you pics will be up shortly after surgery Dr provides b4 and after pics for me. God bless all Updated on 29 Aug 2013: Sooo happy I did this and it wasnt as bad as my anxiety thought . Dr and staff were wonderful and it went pretty fast. I had a general so dont remember being wheeled to op room. When it was over about 2 hrs later other than being a litter drugged felt pretty good. From what I can see my little boobies and back and looking pretty good for a 61 year old will have pics to post in a few days ! If your hesitating to do this don't I look like I have dropped about 10 lbs, and clothes are looking better on my body . You instantly feel a weight being lifted off your body its just fantastic!! Wished I had the money to do this years ago! Thanks for all the support and well wishes , God bless you all...will keep posting updates and hopefully pics soon!! I'm a member of the bag-less club!!!!! LOVING IT !! Updated on 3 Sep 2013: Finally drains came out, feels wonderful, have one more week before I can exercise . Dr says all looks good don't have to go back for one month and get to SHOWER tonite (no more sponge baths hehehe). Have to find a good support Bra, any suggestions? I went to kohl s but nothing there was comfortable with my incisions. This surgery was so worth it and couldn't have gotten through it without all the good people on here to help , praise the Lord for this site !! Feel lighter look lighter and after 2 weeks no soreness or pain, even did a bit of laundry yesterday. Will be able to start exercising again in 2 days !! Do miss hubby waiting on me hand and feet though lol. Have follow up apt on Oct 3, incisions are healing nicely. Dr said both implants were ruptured and one had a very small leak, the shell of the implant on both sides was very thin and fragile so glad I made my decision when I did or who knows how bad it could have become before explant. Praise the Lord!! Updated on 17 Sep 2013: Woo Hoo , finally back to walking 30 minutes a day for the first week then next week gonna hit it. It felt wonderful to be out walking again. Tried some light gardening yesterday but think that might be a bit much yet as I was sore this am. So putting that on hold for another few weeks LOL Otherwise doing well and a little soreness at the incision on the rt side and left side nothing at all. Only time I really feel incision soreness is when I try to sleep on my side , thats still not comfortable yet. I would say Im at 80% and loving it !! Would do it all over again in a heartbeat..its so worth it ladies !! God Bless Updated on 17 Sep 2013: Get a good bra before surgery to wear after, I waited til after surgery and it took me almost to weeks to find a comfortable and supportive one,you need to be well supported after surgery. I am very excited to get these toxic bags out of me!!! I have been thinking about it since i learned i had pip's a few months ago. My goal is to feel healthier all around and to regain my energy level. I have chronic fatigue and flu like symptoms most of the time, aside from cold feet, eye dryness and ocassional palpitations, night sweats, burning sensation inside my breasts, headaches and dizziness among others... The most important lesson i have learned is that God made us unique and we should honor our uniqueness. i am very happy to have found this site as I do not know anybody that has gone through , so reading these stories gives me hope and make feel encouraged. I will be posting some more soon... Updated on 14 Nov 2012: Today i went and visited a prosthetic lab for a consultation on breast forms. (They are meant originally for women who have had a mastectomy but by the look of things i will be left with barely any brast tissue...) The experience was a good one ... Lady was very nice and helpful. Measured me and brought in some bras (naturewear) for me to try on without the prosthesis. Then showed me the breast forms which range in sizes 0 to 14 (so u can choose what size to be). They are a little heavy and can get hot particularly in the summer, so is best to go with a small one. i tried on a size 4 in the bra pocket of a 34 c bra and fitted okay. I am excited about this option. There are catalogs with lots of bras and breastforms to choose from. Worth looking into!! Updated on 24 Nov 2012: Took a headstart on christmas shooping and also bought a post surgigal bra on line.Dcorating for Christmas and working on gifts takes away some of my anxiety pre'surgery. Will post some before explant pics. Updated on 1 Dec 2012: Bought a new shampoo that is silicone free... At this point anything that says silicone free is welcome. ; ) Updated on 10 Dec 2012: Back from surgery. Implants were INTACT ! THANKS GOD!!! Did not feel a thing. Not worth having all the previous anxiety... In a compression bra with drains . Boobs look flat and nipples look somewhat inwards and out of place... Oh well Like i say health first vanity tenth ; ) Not sure if i'll be posting pics anytime soon... Might wait and see if they fluff -up like they say... I have been amazed at some of thetransformation some of the ladies on this site have shown troughout the months.. So feeling hopeful! Feeling alittle tired. Thanks for the good wishes! Will post back Updated on 12 Dec 2012: The day of the surgery i came home around 4 pm full of energy or at least thats how i felt after knowing i had no ruptures in my implants and i was pip free! I came and started arranging things around the house like i always do... Disciplining the kids etc not realizing i should be resting... My husband used to me always doing those things was not pro- active or interested enough in me getting rest... When i realizedwhat was happening i got upset and emotional. From about 8 at night to around 3 inthe morning we argued and over-analyzed our relationship... I finally decided to take my pain meds and went to sleep laying on my right side on top of drain tube... I woke up with a breast that appeared to have a big implant inside and the tube incision began to bleed. Called doctor at 6 am went to his office at 8 and then to the hospital. Had to go into surgery after 5 hours wait becouse the ps has other surgeries first. Hematoma drained and skin restitched! Doctor and nurse ( upon my request ) had to talk to my husnad about the specifif care i need to have for a healthy recovery... He is finally getting his act together, it is a lot of work forme still because i have to be on him asking for wht i need instead of him being pro active and anticipate my needs. I am hoping he steps it up and prove to himself that he can be all that i need for him to be right now. We have been married for 21 years and still working at making the relationship better... We never stop growing do we?? Updated on 13 Dec 2012: Called the ps office this morning to report my fluid measurings. Nurse tells me they are still a bit high. They needto measure 20 or less two days in a row... So now i have to wait until monday to take them out... Also had to take stool softener because apparently anesthesia and pain killer cause constipation. Im alo taking antibiotics. Just curious what you all are taking or took as far as prescriptions go? I dont want to feel over-medicated... Updated on 14 Dec 2012: Day 5. Making calls to insurance company to inquire if we can file for second surgery since it was medically necessary... Apparently it can take up to 2 months to see it go through. After showing to my husband yesterday that i was capable of taking care of my basic needs without his assistance, he decided he does wants to be more actively involved in my recovery... We both had to do some soul-searching and show some humility... My 18 year old daughter has been pitching in some more, after having a family meeting last night over dinner. We all have to realize this is a temporary situation and we all have to contribute to make as smooth as possible. On onother note, still constipated .. Will have to increase the fiber intake ... Any tips? Updated on 15 Dec 2012: First outing today. Went to Hobby Lobby to buy some christmas presents for my ten year old school teachers. Had some chills and felt tired after a little while... Husband bought flowers last night and has been really sweet and helpful lately. My organism finally" cleansed" itself and feeling lighter - but hungry often. Trying to not get bored between tv, magazines, knitting and dvd's ... Drastically flat chested ¶ showed my husband and he says its ok... I guess he's more of a butt guy; ) Not taken any pain killers today. Can't wait until monday to get the drains out! Updated on 16 Dec 2012: Just buried my implants in my backyard. Bittersweet. They were part of my for 6years. They were a threat for me. They also adorned me and made me falsely feel more of a woman. Never more of a nurturing mom than what i am without them. I will rest in peace knowing i am free of industrial silicone in my body. RIP from PIP. Updated on 17 Dec 2012: Drains out and padding on! Ps gave green light on wearing any bras i prefer. Now wering dancer bra w/pockets that hold cup form. He says i still need to take it easy for one more week. Can drive to the store, shower, sleep on my side and do light housework. Nothing strenous that will alter my blood pressure. Still bruised and holes were drains were need to heal... Next appt. unti jan the 7th. Updated on 18 Dec 2012: First time to shower after a week. Felt good! Out to meditation group and slowly regaining a grip of rutine. Feeling grateful to feel good on time for christmas! PS said to still take it easy for one more week though... Updated on 19 Dec 2012: Added a pic with bra on. one is slightly fuller than the other due to prev. hematoma. both are bruised. not posting naked pics yet. Also i believe i'm one of the smallest ladies on the site. I have pre-puberty breasts! An 11 year old might be around my size now... That doesn't worry me... what i'm getting a little concerned is going out on errands wears me out. after about an hour out, i start to get chills and feel tired like i want to go home. P.S. did tell me to take it easy one more week. I don't see him until Jan. 7th. Will see... Updated on 21 Dec 2012: Feeling better today! Erase what I wrote yesterday... Really grateful that i've been able to recover at my own pace and not HAVE to work by force. Grateful for not having to lift, pull or push anything heavier than I can. Able to look at myself in the mirror longer and know that am free of toxic danger inside me!! Even liking my leaner look !! Updated on 22 Dec 2012: First day driving, feeling empowered!! Bought some new bra inserts from a company called handfull, very soft and full. Worth checking... Merry Christmas! Updated on 29 Dec 2012: Went to the gym today and walked the track. Literally getting back on track...!! Used smaller padding today, felt good! Picked up more yarn for a new crotchet project, life is good : ) Updated on 31 Dec 2012: Ringing in the new year silicone free!! Happy New Year!! Updated on 2 Jan 2013: Feeling great today! More energy and breasts are less tender. I took a good look at my breasts today or should i say at was is left from them... They even look perky; ) since my initial BA included nipping my nipples they sit right were they need to be. I still have a little bruising close to the incisions. Have my next appt on the 7th and hopefully my p.s. will loft all restrictions. I'm glad i never went for big implants cause now only a little padding does the trick... I think people who know about the surgery tend to look more at the chest area as opposed as those who don't know, they really don't notice. Updated on 7 Jan 2013: Went in for revision today. All restrictions lifted. Need to cover scars with micropore tape. He will see me back in april... Anybody else using tape? He did not advise massaging them... I have a nipple bigger than the other and it is more sensitive, so its almost all the timeerect! Dr offered to correct it but REALLY i'm not up for more surgery anytime soon. By the way, noticedmy boobs jiggling when i brushed my teeth this morning, jaja - had not seen that in a while. Updated on 9 Jan 2013: Switched my b/c cup inserts for cup a/b. Slowly coming to terms with looking smaller on chest. Started lifting weights (one pounders) ... I feel i could go heavier, but i'll just do it graduelly. Ordered a zee bra, should get here sometime next week! Updated on 10 Jan 2013: Organized part of my closet. Took out a big black plastic bag Full! Guess image will be changing... Not so many tight tops or deep v-necks... Oh well ...will be able to fnd pretty and femenine blouses that fit comfortably . It's all good!! ; ) Updated on 22 Jan 2013: After 6 weeks and resuming my life... Im ready to weane from this site... It has been an amazing process. I have read many inspiring stories from brave woman... I hope my story has also touched somebody in a way that has helped them... Wisdom comes late many a times and not in a gentle way... Lets embrace life and ALL the LOVE it contains letting appearances be only skin deep as they are.
