hi RS friends! Been reading tt reviews for a few months now so now it's my turn. Been doing hundreds of abdominal's weekly at my local gym, along with swimming, biking , walking. I'm 5-2, 135lbs but can't loose this flabby belly!! So after a lovely visit with my favorite ps Dr. Daniel Atwood in Fayettville, Ar I booked it. It's right around the corner!! Aug 12! So pre-op tomorrow, then I'm on my way to the flat side! After all, if my grandma can get one at 82, I figure I can have one at 59. So here are some before photos, hopefully some after shots the end of the week. Wish me luck!!

Did your Grandmother really have a tummy tuck at 82? I'm 63 and sick of wishing for one... This is very encouraging

so I had my pre- op with the nurse @ 9 a.m . Photos, Rx's, many instructions, I'm getting pretty nervous! I'm having muscle repair also and it makes recovery slower, ugh!! She said I might not drive for 4 weeks!! I didn't mention the drains to my husband, it would gross him out! So now I'm back for pre-op with Dr Atwood, 2:15. My surgery is tomorrow @ 1 pm, talk to you soon!

Hi, don't be nervous! Be excited! No more tummy rolls after tomorrow! I had it done Nov. 12 and it was a lot easier than I expected. I think muscle repair is part of every tummy tuck...I know they at least tighten the muscles if that's what they mean by repair. I had that. It just feels very, very tight. Do whatever you can Not to sneeze though...wow, does that hurt. Yeah, the drains totally grossed out my husband, so much so that after 1 day he wouldn't help me anymore and I was left to fend for myself....not good and I'll never forget it....and I drove 3 days later---to my mom's house and stayed there for a month recovering. I suggest you get a cane (my had 4 legs) b/c it makes it SO much easier when you want to get up (or down). Also it's a good thing to have nightlights in the kitchen, bathroom, hallway b/c you will have to get up during the night. Also, keep some things within arm's distance like the phone, pills, water bottle, magazine etc. I was up and walking around WalMart the next week but leaning over a cart otherwise I couldn't have done it. You will be hunched over for a few days at least and feel like you can't straighten up. Not a lot of pain but just a lot of weird feelings. I am still numb and THAT is a very strange feeling. Oh, and you'll need some stool softeners for sure esp if you're taking narcotic pain pills, but going #2 is another weird experience and that (and gas) can cause pain when it passes below the incision line. Just thought you should know.....

I made it to the flat side!!

im 24 hrs post -op , surgery went well, late because previous surgery ran late. Compression in place, one drain. Demerol/phenergan on board. I'm doing the Arnica under tongue for swelling also. My ps also injected experel which is a long acting local anesthetic so I'm in good shape!! Still sore, getting out of bed is the worst. Also they recommend 100-120 gms of protein per day and vitamin C for healing. My drain output is 20-25 cc each time I drain it, 3 times a day.
So I'm trying to rest , not easy for me! More later with pics!
