My goal is to provide beautiful results that are not contrived or unnatural in appearance. I do not subscribe to a one size fits all mentality, but work with your unique anatomy to give you your best result. Most of all, I aim to be approachable to patients, and listen to their desires and wishes.
For about the last 20 years, I have been extremely unhappy with my breasts. They were two different sizes and the nipples were extremely asymmetrical. I was so happy to have insurance approve my surgery and scheduled it as soon as I received approval. I requested to have them reduced to a “medium C.”
I was very honored to have Dr. Beale do my surgery. His PA Blake makes me feel very calm and at peace. She is a keeper for sure. You can see in their eyes they care about your well being and what your expectations are. He came highly recommend and I have already began recommending him to my clients. This is such a personal journey worring about the skills of a surgeon should not be on your mind. I have never questioned my choice of surgeons. 120% recommend a consult with Dr. Beale.
After my third child was born and I stopped breastfeeding, I could not get into Dr. Beale's office fast enough! I was tired of still looking pregnant and bathing suit weather was around the corner. He recommended a tummy tuck, liposuction and breast implants to help restore my pre-baby body. After some precise measuring, I was surprised when he told me that he could correct the sagging breasts with just implants - no lift necessary - yea! Wanting a natural appearance, I chose a shaped "gummy bear" implant, and my "new" boobs are fabulous! :) Just the right size and are not fake looking at all. At first, they felt very firm, which concerned me, but they have softened and now feel totally natural. He liposuctioned my inner and outer thighs and back and really smoothed out the bumps. He closed the huge gap in my ab muscles and nipped in a cute waist at my request (before I had kids, I had a strait figure). I have a pretty substantial scar on my stomach, but he made sure it was concealable under a bikini bottom. If you plan on undergoing a mommy makeover, make sure you can take at least 10 days to recover. I've had a c-section, and this procedure was just as painful :( Compression underwear helps, but the bruising and swelling were pretty severe for a few days. By June, I shed my size 10 clothes for size 6! I (and my husband) could not be happier, and I would do it again in a heartbeat!
I'm 25 years old and the mother of two girls. They are 5 and 3. I am a single mom and full time nursing student. I have struggled with my weight since I was about 10 years old. I remember yo-yo dieting all through high school. When I was 22, I knew something had to change. My maternal aunt has been battling congestive heart failure and my maternal uncle passed away due to the same condition. I refused to leave my daughters from something I could avoid. I completely changed my lifestyle. I mostly changed my eating habits. I ate mostly protein and veggies. I tried to go to the gym 4-5 days a week. This led me to losing 130 pounds in around 12 months. Now I have a lot of excess skin. Mostly on my stomach and legs. My insurance is covering th removal of the abdominal skin. The legs and arms will have to wait until I'm done with school. I'll update soon! Updated on 11 Jun 2015: The first night wasn't bad. I spent it in the hospital so my pain was mostly controlled. I got see my tummy and it is beautiful even with the swelling. I can't wait to see it once it goes down. I have drains that are putting out quite a bit. I should get them out in Friday. I feel pretty good. I've been trying to walk but that's when the pain gets to me the most. But, I'll keep on truck in'. More news as I get it. Updated on 14 Jun 2015: It's 3 am and I'm up again. This is starting to become a routine. I had to get up to pee and take some pain killers. The pain is manageable until I get up. Hah. I know that it will all be worth it though. Owe are staying in a hotel currently and I am coming to understand that if we were at home (in Lubbock) things would be easier. I wouldn't have to go buy everything I need for instance and wouldn't have the urge to clean constantly. But, anyways the pain is getting better. I'm still extremely swollen. I'm including a picture. I'm feeling good with the results that I'm seeing but still a bit worried about how my hips will look.
Well I Have 2 days Til My Surgery And Its Almost Here I'm Really Just Ready To Get It Over With I Have My Family And Friends With Me So I Have To Be There At 7:00 Am Thursday And Probably Around 8 I'll Be Ready To Go I Guess But I'm Ready I'm Prepared With Everything extra bras comfortable clothes ya Updated on 29 Nov 2015: I'm 10 Days Post Op They Are Great A Big Weight Lifted Off My Back They Took 3.3 pounds Off Of Each Breast And I Feel Great
So far I've had my consultation and today I had the blood work and check up done that the surgeon requires. I've lost around 80 pounds and have quite a bit of extra skin/sagginess hanging around on my stomach. It makes me very self conscious and I am so excited to have it removed. My pre-op appointment is next week (6/23) and then two weeks after that is the big day! Updated on 19 Jun 2015: Updated on 25 Jun 2015: My pre-op appointment went well. He looked at my stomach again and wanted to do some extra lipo on my flanks but I cant afford that right now so I'm going to go without. I know I will still look good either way! I got a folder full of all kinds of information pre and post op instructions (what medications to avoid leading up to surgery, papers about what to expect, information on the garment and scar strips/treatments, etc.) I was given a prescription for an antibiotic, a muscle relaxer, something for nausea, and of course the pain meds. 1 week and 6 days until the big day! Time is going by so fast. I'm started to feel really unprepared and nervous! Updated on 1 Jul 2015: I wish it was time already! I am working on a summer class right now and I can hardly read my textbook or focus because all I can think about is surgery! I think I'm actually losing my mind. We have a recliner that I am going to stuff in my room (it will be a tight fit) but I want to be as comfortable as possible and my bed is up pretty high. At least I wont need to walk around my room too much. There will hardly be any space left haha. The anesthesia company called today for their fee, so that's over with. All that's left now is a week of waiting. And planning. And getting ready. And obsessing. I bought a button down night gown type thing from Walmart. It looks HILARIOUS on me and makes me look like a grandma. My boyfriend says it's cute though ;) The material is light and comfy though. Trying to make a grocery list and finish up my list of supplies. Any must have items? Updated on 10 Jul 2015: Hi everyone. So my tummy tuck was on Wednesday (7/8). I arrived at the hospital a little before 6 AM to get checked in. This was the fanciest hospital I've ever been to! Anyway, so after I got checked in I was taken back to preop where I had to pee in a cup, have blood drawn, and change into the robe. Not too long after that, I was given some medication to relax me and then I was given the anesthesia that knocked me out! 3 hours later I woke up and I honestly hardly remember anything from this time. I was so woozy and out of it, I kept falling asleep mid sentence. I was like that pretty much that whole day. My pain was very controlled and was much better than what I expected. The hardest and most painful part was sitting up out of bed. My surgeon came in to check on me and pointed out some abnormal bruising and pressed around my stomach. He was concerned about fluid buildup so he did a sonogram and yep - there was buildup. I had to be put back to sleep and have my incision opened up again so that the stuff could be drained out. This was yesterday (7/9). I had to stay an extra night because of the second procedure so I just got home a few minutes ago. I'm pretty sore but the pain is tolerable. The hydrocodone doesn't work as good as the diludad they had me on at the hospital though ;) I also ended up with my right hand being EXTREMELY swollen, the IV had "infiltrated" which I guess means it went all the way through my vein. So that had to come out. My scar is a lot lower than I thought it would be, which is nice! My drains are also lower than I thought they'd be. They are actually in my vulva area. The spots where they enter the skin are pretty sore. My belly button is so cute and from what I can tell my stomach looks great, even with all of the swelling. I will post some pictures next time I get up and take of the binder. I am still so tired so I'm sure I left out sooo many details. If you have any questions - ask away! I'll post before and afters soon as well. Updated on 12 Jul 2015: Here are some before and afters I always walked around with my stomach sucked in (I'm pretty sure I even did it in my sleep)...which always hurt my back because I would try to suck it in SO FAR. It also hurt to leave it relaxed because the pulling sensation at the top of my abdomen caused pain. I would sometimes get itchy/rashy underneath the flap area of the stomach. Not only were there physical problems, but I was very self conscious about it. It was the thing that I hated most about myself and couldn't get rid of despite living a very healthy and active lifestyle. I am SO happy with my results. My bellybutton is covered in the after picture, but it is really cute! My scar is lower than I thought it'd be too, so that's good. Updated on 16 Jul 2015: Here is how my stomach looks with the skin infection and pus/blood bubble forming on my incision. Updated on 19 Jul 2015: I spent two nights at the hospital while they loaded me up with some really strong antibiotics. They started working pretty quickly and the redness on my stomach thankfully started to subside. The pus bubble area popped and that spot has been pretty gross with leakage. My surgeons assistant (who I freaking love) told me that once it heals they will cut it out so there wont be any extra scarring or anything next to my incision. The area is now looking WAY better, very little redness left. I have some oral antibiotics that I'm taking now as well as a probiotic recommended by the surgeons assistant. I feel great today. This is definitely the best I've felt yet. I was pretty upset because everyone says after day 5 it gets better and better and here I am at day 12 and I'm just starting to improve. But that infection really took its toll on me and now I'm just glad it's over with. I'm finally able to do things on my own, walk without a walker, etc. So I'm getting some independence back which is nice. I've added a picture of how I look as of tonight :) Updated on 28 Aug 2015: Hi everyone! I haven't posted on here in quite a while so I figured it was time to do an update. I'm a little over 7 weeks post op now and doing great. The redness from the skin infection has long since faded except for one small area that is still in the process of fading. No big dealio. I have some fat on my hips that I'm not going to let bother me (see pictures). If I had gotten flank lipo the fat wouldn't be there but I couldn't afford the extra $3000. It's just fat and no loose skin, so I will just give it time as I lose fat and build muscle to shrink away. I think my stomach looks great and I don't want that bit of fat to bother me too much! I've added strength training back into my routine which I'm so happy about because lifting weights has been my favorite activity for a while. I have to use light weights and start small of course, but it feels good to get back into that routine. I've been getting on the treadmill since around 4 weeks (I think?) post op and now I'm really increasing my speed and running a bit. I can do everything that I did before surgery with no problems. As far as swelling goes, I swell up quite a bit by the end of the day but it's not too bad. It's definitely worse on days when I'm moving around a lot. It can get uncomfortable but it's not that big of a deal to me. If you have any questions, ask ask ask! :)
I'm having a reduction/lift on 12/2. I've lost 116lbs since Feb 25th via Duodenal Switch. I'm measuring a 36H. I'm hoping to be a large C when this is over. I know I NEED to do it but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't starting to get a little nervous. Any tips, advice, last minute things I need to know? Updated on 3 Dec 2014: I'm home and doing ok. It hurts but I'm getting around pretty well. I got this super sexy bra from the hospital. Updated on 3 Dec 2014: Updated on 4 Dec 2014: So it's been 48 hrs. I talked to the drs office about a refill on my Tylenol w/codeine. The nurse says it's time to start weaning me off of pain meds. I get one more refill but they want me to start switching to regular tylenol. Is this normal after 2 days????? Oh, here's a pic. I think they look ok for 48 hrs. What do you think? Updated on 6 Dec 2014: I know it's too early to worry but it looks like I've got some large dog ears on at least one side under my arm. What do you think? Updated on 7 Dec 2014: Ok so my pain level is up a bit tonight. I'm trying to avoid the Tylenol w/codeine because it was rough on my tummy. I've been taking reg tylenol all day and it's really not doing anything. I have some Lorzone that I've taken (not recently) for back spasms. Does anyone know if Lorzone would help with my pain? It's a muscle relaxer and helps with pain but I'm not sure it works for incision pain. Updated on 12 Dec 2014: Fluid had built up in one of the girls and the dr had to drain it. I still can't believe I let him poke me with that needle and suck out fluid. Other than that, things are going well Updated on 13 Dec 2014: My glue is starting to flake and my stitches were rubbing so I put some steri strips on top for padding. It's still sore and right but seeing the stitches start to break down is making me hopeful. Updated on 27 Dec 2014: So it has been particularly busy at work yesterday and today at work. My whole chest aches now. It feels muscular. Is that normal when you're getting back in the swing of things? I didn't hurt anything, right??
I had gastric bypass in 2010 and exercised everyday. I have lost 145 lbs and kept it off for 2 years as of date. But I could not get rid of that fatty part above my vagina. I worked out faithfully at the gym even with a personal trainer. It just got where they told me that I lost the elasticity in that area a s would have that for life. I was like oh no I have to do something. Contacted Dr. Beale and scheduled a consultation.
Thanks for your question. Most patients can start silicone sheeting around 2-3 weeks postop, depending on what was used to close the incision. If skin glue or skin glue tape was used, you need to wait until it falls off, usually by 3 weeks. It is also important not to use it on anywhere that may have a sore spot until that resolves. Silicone sheeting is best used at least 16 hours a day, and for 2-3 months for best results. It is worth it, because it is one of the few scar treatments with scientific data to back up its effectiveness. Best of luck, and be sure to see a board-certified plastic surgeon.
From a medical standpoint, there is no scientific data to support this or similar products. One may get strengthening of abs doing this, but skin tightening and fat loss is unlikely. The photos do show an improvement, but I think they are misleading, and can easily be the result of model sticking tummy our or in. If you are interested in non surgical fat loss for the abdominal region, consider cool sculpt. However, as much extra skin as the model has in the before photo, most plastic surgeons would agree a tummy tuck would be the most definitive procedure. Good luck and be sure to see a board-certified plastic surgeon.
Thank you for your question. Don't worry, your end result will not be compromised. Usually a seroma is treated with 2-3 aspirations with a syringe. If this fails, infusion with a medicine like doxycycline can cause the seroma cavity to seal closed on the inside. If this fails, a drain can be place by a radiologist, but often the seroma cavity needs to be surgically excise to treat this effectively. This can be done through your tummy tuck incision. Be sure to see a board-certified plastic surgeon and best of luck.
Thank you for your question. Sometimes absorbable suture poke out of the skin, or "spit" after surgery. This is not uncommon, and usually can be easily treated by clipping the exposed suture at the level of the skin and the incision will then heal over it. Best of luck, and be sure to see a board-certified plastic surgeon.
Thank you for your question. Usually a little extra skin after pregnancy is best treated with a mini-tummy tuck. In your case, this would likely be similar to your C-section scar, and would have the added benefit of a diastasis recti repair. Non-surgical skin tightening technology is not quite effective in this area, as opposed to the neck. I think the laser skin tightening treatments would not be nearly as effective as your surgical options. Be sure to see a board-certified plastic surgeon and best of luck.
