It's been a while! 7 week updates.

Hi everyone! I haven't posted on here in quite a while so I figured it was time to do an update.

I'm a little over 7 weeks post op now and doing great. The redness from the skin infection has long since faded except for one small area that is still in the process of fading. No big dealio.

I have some fat on my hips that I'm not going to let bother me (see pictures). If I had gotten flank lipo the fat wouldn't be there but I couldn't afford the extra $3000. It's just fat and no loose skin, so I will just give it time as I lose fat and build muscle to shrink away.
I think my stomach looks great and I don't want that bit of fat to bother me too much!

I've added strength training back into my routine which I'm so happy about because lifting weights has been my favorite activity for a while. I have to use light weights and start small of course, but it feels good to get back into that routine.

I've been getting on the treadmill since around 4 weeks (I think?) post op and now I'm really increasing my speed and running a bit.

I can do everything that I did before surgery with no problems.

As far as swelling goes, I swell up quite a bit by the end of the day but it's not too bad. It's definitely worse on days when I'm moving around a lot. It can get uncomfortable but it's not that big of a deal to me.

If you have any questions, ask ask ask! :)

Back home from hospital after infection treatment!

I spent two nights at the hospital while they loaded me up with some really strong antibiotics. They started working pretty quickly and the redness on my stomach thankfully started to subside. The pus bubble area popped and that spot has been pretty gross with leakage. My surgeons assistant (who I freaking love) told me that once it heals they will cut it out so there wont be any extra scarring or anything next to my incision.

The area is now looking WAY better, very little redness left. I have some oral antibiotics that I'm taking now as well as a probiotic recommended by the surgeons assistant.

I feel great today. This is definitely the best I've felt yet. I was pretty upset because everyone says after day 5 it gets better and better and here I am at day 12 and I'm just starting to improve. But that infection really took its toll on me and now I'm just glad it's over with.

I'm finally able to do things on my own, walk without a walker, etc. So I'm getting some independence back which is nice.

I've added a picture of how I look as of tonight :)

Infection :(

Here is how my stomach looks with the skin infection and pus/blood bubble forming on my incision.
