I'm 25 years old and the mother of two girls. They are 5 and 3. I am a single mom and full time nursing student. I have struggled with my weight since I was about 10 years old. I remember yo-yo dieting all through high school.
When I was 22, I knew something had to change. My maternal aunt has been battling congestive heart failure and my maternal uncle passed away due to the same condition.
I refused to leave my daughters from something I could avoid.
I completely changed my lifestyle. I mostly changed my eating habits. I ate mostly protein and veggies.
I tried to go to the gym 4-5 days a week.

This led me to losing 130 pounds in around 12 months.

Now I have a lot of excess skin. Mostly on my stomach and legs.

My insurance is covering th removal of the abdominal skin. The legs and arms will have to wait until I'm done with school.

I'll update soon!

I would like to commend you on your lifestyle changes. This is the first step to losing weight and having a better quality of life. It is wonderful to hear that your insurance will cover the abdominal skin removal. It is important to understand that exercise will not tighten loose skin. If you want to get rid of the excess skin on your legs and arms, you will need to consider an armlift and thighlift. There are wonderful options abroad in other countries. I am based in Cancun, Mexico and the package prices are very affordable and having the procedure can be a reality. This is something to consider in the future. Please keep us updated!!!

I take my hat off to you.  I'm a single mom and making time for yourself is so hard.  You've accomplished so much and I hope you are proud.  I am really looking forward to your updates and pics.

The first night wasn't bad. I spent it in the hospital so my pain was mostly controlled. I got see my tummy and it is beautiful even with the swelling.
I can't wait to see it once it goes down.

I have drains that are putting out quite a bit. I should get them out in Friday.
I feel pretty good. I've been trying to walk but that's when the pain gets to me the most. But, I'll keep on truck in'.
More news as I get it.

Congratulations! I am looking to get the same procedure, I might just call Dr. Beale for a consultation. If I may ask, what insurance do you have? I want to file for my panniculectomy to be covered by my health insurance too hopefully.

It's 3 am and I'm up again. This is starting to become a routine. I had to get up to pee and take some pain killers. The pain is manageable until I get up. Hah. I know that it will all be worth it though. Owe are staying in a hotel currently and I am coming to understand that if we were at home (in Lubbock) things would be easier.
I wouldn't have to go buy everything I need for instance and wouldn't have the urge to clean constantly.
But, anyways the pain is getting better. I'm still extremely swollen. I'm including a picture. I'm feeling good with the results that I'm seeing but still a bit worried about how my hips will look.

I had the same thing with my sleep schedule. Up every night usually around 12, then 4, to take pain meds and use the bathroom then it could take an hour to fall back asleep. Glad you're feeling a bit better! I know the waiting to see the results is so hard :( but 3 months from now we will be fine :)

You look great.Don't worry, the swelling will go down and everything will look better and better

I will be having a TT done by Dr. Beale on July 8th. I can imagine that staying in a hotel would be tough! What made you decide to travel so far to have it done?

I live in Lubbock and there is only one dr who accepts insurance for the procedure. He was hateful in consultation and wouldn't move my belly button without paying for a full tummy tuck. When I consulted with dr Beale, they were so helpful and actually cared about my result.
