I had a phenomenal experience with Dr. Muskett and his staff from initial consultation to surgery! I’m currently 7 days out from my breast augmentation and am very pleased. Together, we chose 360 cc round silicone, low profile implants and I am excited to see what they look like when they fully drop. I was pre-surgery initially a small to full 38B and anticipate I will end a full 38C to small 38D. This is perfect for my frame (5’5.5” and 155 lbs) and will look very natural with roundness and oomph naked/swimsuit but fairly conservative when dressed. I have fibromyalgia so we didn’t want to go above 400cc, not only to limit additional chronic pain but to keep me from looking heavier than I am (weight loss in progress). Dr. Muskett was an excellent choice for me for many reasons, one of them being that I have a very complicated medical history which did not intimidate him or his staff in taking me on as a BA patient.
Amazing experience. Could not have asked for a better surgeon. Got an amazing result and no complications or concerns. He made me feel comfortable and was very respectful and understanding, made the whole process so simple and relaxing.
Dr Muskett is a top notch perectionist and I am extremely satisfied with my results. He made me feel at ease with his explanation and understanding of what i wanted done. i opted to be awake durring my proceedure and Dr Muskett explained what he was doing during my procedure.
I'm 5'9 165 started out with a 34B deflated from breast-feeding. I decided to get a breast augmentation with Dr. Muskett and I could not be happier with my experience at Billings plastic surgery. I received 560cc natrelle inspira SRM and they are a perfect fit for me. I'm 2 days post op and recovery thus far has been nearly painless. I would recommend dr Muskett 100 times over to anyone considering a breast augmentation. Updated on 20 Feb 2017: :) Updated on 1 May 2017: Updated on 11 May 2017:
Im 3 weeks away from my augmentation and im nervous/excited. Had my consultation yesterday and im thinking of going with the 375cc id love to hear opinions or experiences and some advice. Im just really hoping i choose the right size dont want to look huge i think a c cup would be good please share your thoughts!! Updated on 27 Jul 2016: Im very nervouse and at my appointment we disgussed doing 330cc in my rt and 375cc on my left and now im second guessing that i just dont think they are 45cc diference in size im thinking maybe asking to do 350cc in rt and 375cc in left.. also im confused everyone post about mod and high profile ect.. they didnt ask me any of that and textured vs non textured so im unsure what all that means and why i didnt need to choose any of that... Updated on 27 Jul 2016: 2 weeks from tomorrow.. advice from people that have been there done it?? I willl be going back to work on day 4 post op .. i am a medical coder and work from home sho just typing on computer.. thing im worried about is i usually get sick on pain meds so not sure how that will go Updated on 10 Aug 2016: One last before pic cant wait for some underboob. Sooo nervous but also excited for the outcome! Updated on 11 Aug 2016: Today was surgery day. My appointment was at 10am. I showed up about 15 mins early and they were actually running early as well so i got right in. Got changed into a gown took a pregnancy test, got an iv with the hydrating solution stuff signed a few papers and that was that. By 10:45 i was under and in surgery. When i woke upi was back in the recovery room i felt a tad sllep and still hungry and i could feel slight soreness. but i haddent had any pain medication yet because they wanted me to get something in my stomach.. i think it was 11:30 when i woke up.. super fast. Since i was starving they have me ritz crackers, pudding and water mmmmmmm ;). Then i asked if the implants fit haha yep they sure did i got 330 in my left boob and 375 in my right. Im actually supeised at this point i have more range of motion in my arms than i expected but i want able to close the car door. Its amazing what you dont realize you use your muscles for. So far no nausea because im alsotaking anti nausea meds thank goodness.. and no loss of appetite either yay!! Updated on 12 Aug 2016: This is amazing so far the most pain ive been is a 1 out of 10. I have lits of range of movement just raking it easy so i dont over do it and get sore tgankfully my mom is here to help me out. Im on tramadol for the pain and zofran to counteract the nausea i would usually get from the pain meds and at night i take one zanex right when i go to bed.. yesterday and tgrough the night i took my pain meds every 4 hrs. Today i decided to see if i could wait the full 6 hrs between and i still had no pain im completely shocked.. im going to keep lessening my dose because id like to be on tylonol asap. I slept in my bed last night and to my suprise i was very comfortable propped slightly up with pillows and i used a nursing pillow for my neck and head and that worked really well. The only complaint i had so far is i woke up itchy a couple times i have dry skin and i think the antibacterial soap that i had to wash with before dryed me out.. but with a little coconut oil today im all better. Also everyone always says they wake up sore/ morning boob no sign of that yet and no muscle spasms. My left boob and nipple are still numb but i already can feel in my right nipple. Have my postip appointment at 11 today to get fitted for my surgical bra so ill updaye later with more pics!! Seriously this has been way way less painfup than breastfeeding and mastitus and wisdom teeth removal im shocked!! I am also shovked they dont feel to tight and im not having any trouble breathing or feeling the elephant on my chest feeling. Rven did my makeup today so i feel human lol Updated on 12 Aug 2016: What an aeesome experience so far. Dr muskett is amazing it is day 2 and i cannot believe how great my insisions look and even the boobs look good so far even though they have some dropping and fluffing left to do. Honestly if anyone is concidering this surgery it has been so easy all my worrying about pain and the procedure was so not worth it i would totally do it again. Updated on 13 Aug 2016: Havent been in any pain so decided to try tylonol with tylonol i am more of a 3 on the pain scale and with pain meds i feel completely normal so i took the tylonol through the night then took the tramadol this morning so im not stiff.. with the tramadol if still say my pain is a 1 like no pain at all. My shower went well i can do my hair and makeup no problem. The surgical bra is a little uncomfortable but im guessing thats due to the swelling so im sure that will be better soon. Ive been sleeping in my own bed just with a few pillows to prop me up slightly and ive been really comfortable and sleeping really well Updated on 13 Aug 2016: Forgot to mention im my previous post i also have feeling beck in my right breat and nipple as of yesterday but my left is still completely numb Updated on 14 Aug 2016: Still no pain im on tylonol now.. im really happy so far ..yesterday i went to the fair and got to watch my daughter dance and ride rides. I thought i was going to have to miss out on that this year..i am also wondering if maybe the fact i just quit breastfeeding 3 months ago has maybe helped. Still just letting everyone else do all the lifting ect so i dont hurt myself but i feel so weird being waited on when i feel so good. I took all my extra pillows away and im sleeping normal and flat in my bed again which is nice. Glad to be off the tramadol because it was making me itch terrible however im so lucky thats my only complaint. Updated on 14 Aug 2016: Couple pics of day ill have to have my husband take some at better angles also im still very bloated from surgery do hopefully that goes away soon. Updated on 15 Aug 2016: Im back to work and feeling good. My legs are a little sore im pretty brused.. i think its from a combination of the pain meds and all the itching i had. Pain meds and me just dont mix well Updated on 18 Aug 2016: Today is one week post op besides the first 10 mins after waking up being a little tight i have no pain in the day. I am however sick of sleeping in one position all night mu back gets really sore .. and im a little over this surgical bra.. it is so tight!! I have full range of motion of my arms i even spray tanned myself yesterday and just put bandaids over the incisions to cover them from getting sprayed. The size feels just right too not to big not to small so im happy for that! The glue on my incisions is getting pretty itchy now so im trying my best not to itch. Updated on 25 Aug 2016: I feel 100% back to normal and im sooo happy. Dr. said my healing looks like most people look at 1 month so im super happy with that and now my next visit will be at 1 year post op. Here are some before and after pics i cant wait to buy bras =) i was going to write which was before and which was after on each pic but then i realized its super obvious hahaha. I feel like a girl at last!!! Best choice ive ever made! Updated on 26 Aug 2016: I had no breasts before my surgery couldnt fit in any bra or swimming suit top never felt feminine on my top half. This surgery was the best choice ive ever made for myself Dr. Muskett was awesome very great about answering all of my questions and making me feel comfortable with the procedure and size outcome. I got exactly what i asked for couldnt be happier and wouldnt change a thing.
I was a 34B and wanted to increase my bust size. Dr. Muskett was so professional and took all the time I needed to answer all my questions. He never seemed rushed and was professional and courteous. He is very conservative in his augmentations and takes into consideration your lifestyle and body frame.
A little background, I am 5'7" and around 140 pounds. I do quite a bit of weight lifting, which is mainly why I am wanting to get my breasts done. I used to be a small C large B, but after starting to focus on my health and fitness a lot more, my boobs have really changed. I now can sort of fit into a 34A, but my breasts are completely deflated on top and my breast plate is very visible. It makes me extremely self conscious, and shirts just do not fit right anymore. I can afford to do the surgery now, so I am! I went in for my consult on 8-24-15. The staff were all very nice, although the doctor seemed sort of rushed. I tried on a few sizes and picked out 240cc silicone implants. I am not 100% sure on the implant size though, now I am thinking when implanted it might not even be a big enough jump to get the results I want. The nurse who assisted me said she hears "I wish I would have gone bigger" fairly often, and I don't want to be one of those people. Anyone have any advice on that? Updated on 26 Aug 2015: Updated on 2 Sep 2015: I called today and paid for half the surgery cost and changed my implant to 320cc :). I am getting so excited. After seeing the pictures that were taken in the dr's office, I was very upset. To me they look way different in the mirror than they do in the pictures, I didn't realize my natural breast looked so bottomed out. I am so happy that I can do this now. It's silly to be upset by such a trivial thing, I guess, but I used to have really beautiful looking breasts. It sort of seems unfair that all the focus on my fitness/health led to a complete loss of my favorite body part, but oh well. My husband is so supportive, which helps a lot. He has continually told me he really does not care what size they are and I look beautiful either way. Updated on 19 Oct 2015: 16 days to go and it can'take go by fast enough! I have our hotel room booked and everything paid for and ready to go. I posted a wish boobs pic, that is where I am hoping to end up size wise. I still haven't ordered any silicone strips as I am not sure which ones I should go with. Anyone have any recommendations for those? Updated on 28 Oct 2015: The office called me on Monday to confirm sizes for ordering. I asked for a little more details on which specific style was being ordered and was told Allergen Natrelle, however they are ordering a couple different sizes/profiles around what I wanted too. I am beyond excited, just hoping this last week goes quickly. I am staying in town at a hotel from 11/4 - 11/7, as we have several things going on in Billings during those days. I am hoping I am not too sore to walk around and take care of things with my husband. I have ordered ice packs and Bio-Oil for the recovery period, but not much else. I have seen others lists of things to buy, but I don't want to buy things I won't wind up using. My husband might have to make some late night Target runs if I change my mind :) Updated on 4 Nov 2015: Less than 24 hours to go! Pretty excited, starting to get a wee bit nervous. I am hoping they turn out very rounded and I don't wind up with a larger version of the shape I am working with now. I also work in an entirely male office, so I am not sure what to wear on my first day back (next Wednesday). I might just get a butt load of button up plaid shirts to wear for a while. I am fairly certain most of my business shirts won't fit after this anyway. Updated on 5 Nov 2015: Well they are in! At my hotel relaxing. I cant take my post op bra off until tomorrow, so I will upload pictures then. They look pretty big. I wound up getting Inspira SRM 330cc implants. Updated on 5 Nov 2015: Here they are so far. I wish i could take this off and look! Very bloated and I have very limited movement in my arms. Not too much pain, just a lot of pressure and feeling like my skin is stretching way too far. Updated on 6 Nov 2015: I went to my post op appointment, so far everything looks good. The left one is a little more swollen and is missing some feeling on the skin. I can shower today, but I am just waiting until later. They look pretty big right now, but that is okay with me. I imagine they will shrink a little when the sweeling goes down. Still pretty swollen, not much pain, just a lot of tightness. Updated on 7 Nov 2015: Oh my, morning boob is just awful. Everytime I lay down for more than an hour it feels like my pecs contract and won't let up for 20 minutes or so. They gave me percocet and valium, I think I am just going to take the percocet at night to sleep, and valium throughout the day. Still not much pain, just tightness. Hoping this doesn't last too much longer. I had my post op appointment yesterday and they gave me 2 compression bras to wear, which are fairly comfy. They are very thin though, so I think I may need to buy some nipple petals just in case. I showered for the first time yesterday and that felt amazing. I wish I could take a bath though, but not for a few more weeks :(. On the brighter side, they told me I can walk around and do light cardio as long as my heartrate doesn't get over 140 BPMs. That should be easy, even the stair stepper doesn't kick my heartrate up that much. Still having a hard time finding clothes. I went to TJ Maxx and Target yesterday and couldn't find much that buttons up in front. There is a higher end cosignmemt store in my home town, so I think I will just try going there. Other than that, not too much news. I average about 5 hours of sleep before evil morning boob wakes me up. I will post some updated pics, but I don't think they have changed much yet. I tried to put on my one old bra I brought with me, which was mildly humorous, it doesnt even sort of fit. Updated on 7 Nov 2015: Updated on 10 Nov 2015: Doing pretty well over here. Really not much pain at all, still a bit of morning boob each AM. I am only taking the percocet and valium at night. I love the way they look! The left breast is still sitting fairly high, the right one appears to have dropped a bit. I tried to get some pictures of the incisions, but they still have glue and I am scared of tearing something. My abs have pretty much left the building, but oh well. I'll Be back in the gym soon. My follow up appointment is the 23rd, and I am back to work tomorrow. Today I am going on a quest for new shirts. Updated on 12 Nov 2015: Oh my incisions are driving me insane today. The glue is starting to come off and it just itches. Also felt very nauseated today, I tried to go without valium or pain killers and I think it was not a good idea. Still loving how they look, feeling still missing on most of the left breast, but it seems to be slowly coming back. Updated on 24 Nov 2015: I had my first follow up appointment yesterday. Everything went well, and my Dr. was freaking out (happy freaking out) how far along I am. My incisions are completely closed and no longer swollen. I don't have any pain and according to the surgeon how they are sitting and size wise now is how they are going to be permanently. I don't have to return until a year, and can resume working out upper body in another 6 weeks. Pretty happy with everything so far, I want to go get sized but the only place here is Victoria's Secret and the last time I tried getting sized there it wasn't accurate at all. I am hoping to do some sizing at home in time to order something besides this post op bra. While it is fairly comfortable, the straps on it are so wide and it sits so high, I can't wear any normal shirts to work. Other than that nothing too interesting, my experience with surgery has been pretty pleasant. Updated on 27 Nov 2015: I enlisted my husband to help size me at home, I got a band measurement of 30 and a bust measurement of 38. I put that into some online calculators, which gave me insane sizes like 30G.... yeah no, definitely not. Victoria's Secret had a sizing video online, which measured the bust a different way and I wound up with 34D. That seemed right, so I bought a Champions sports bra in that size, fits like a glove! I am having a bit of difficulty working out without incorporating my arms or chest at all. Every ab excersise I enjoy involves the arms/chest somehow so that is proving to be a bit difficult. Flexing chest muscles with implants under them feels sort of funny at the moment, not painful, just like my muscle is trying to contract but can't fully. I like to do roman chair/hanging leg raises, but when I purch my arms up I feel my chest muscles contract and start freaking out. Getting back into the groove with the gym is proving to be the most difficult part in this journey, I suppose it will just take time. Updated on 20 Dec 2015: I finally went bra shopping, I measure at a 34D, but none of the 34D bras at Victoria's Secret fit right. I wound up trying on 32D, the band about cut my circulation off, and 34C, which was comfy, but the cups don't cover my side boob. I bought one anyways (34C) because it was comfy and made the girls look nice, but I think I am going to look at some Wacoal bras. I never realized how hard it was to find cute bras in any other brand than Victoria's Secret. Frederick's also has nice ones, but they are all push up. I did develop some Mondor Chords last month, but they went away. They were quite umcomfortable, felt like someone was pinching the crease of my boob whenever I lifted my left arm. My natural breasts were fairly uneven, and I noticed I am still not 100% even after implants, but I am not sure it is that noticeable? My husband says he doesn't see it, so maybe it is just me. Getting back into the gym doing upper body is different. My implants move all around when I am using my pecs, not painful really but is funny to watch and will take some getting used to. Still working on losing some of the fat I put on while lounging around, it will take some time I imagine. Still 100% happy with the decision to get them, I got a lot of body confidence back that I was missing. Updated on 1 Jan 2016: I tried lifting chest 2 days ago, started off very light from what I normally do. It felt fine while doing it but holy crap the last two days have been awful. A very strange soreness compared to what I am used to. I can hardly lay on my side. Still happy with them, although I was hoping my implants would have made my breasts closer together, but I still have a pretty large gap between them. I wound up with quite a bit of "side boob" as well, which I wasn't expecting, not really a bad thing, but something to get used to.
I noticed this year that the firmness in my breast had really started to change and I decided to be proactive and instead of waiting a few years until I might be really unhappy with them and then make a change. I researched allot and found photos of befores that looked similar to mine and then looked at the after photos and liked what I saw. I then contacted a few doctors and patients and decided where I was going to go. My doctor was booked three months out but I wanted to feel like I was using the best doctor for me considering this would be a permanant change to my body. One is lower because it has had an easier time dropping this is only 13 days out and the other breast was more work and is still sitting higher. I did talk to the doctor and this was the expectation as he feels the higher one needed more compensation with the lift due to the individual breast. He feels confident it will drop as well. Implants are under the muscle. Updated on 6 Mar 2014: Seeing changes. wondering how it all will come out. Scarring is going pretty well considering 14 days out. Seeing my doc. soon to see if it is coming along the way it should. Updated on 7 Mar 2014: 15 days out waiting for the squarer one to round out! Updated on 9 Mar 2014: Day 17 doesn't look as off when looking at the bigger picture. I also noticed that when the one that isn't as far down fills out the bottom more the nipple does change to the more rounded shape of the other. The higher one is the one that I had the lollipop lift on and it is dropping at a slower rate than the other and is to be expected. Updated on 13 Mar 2014: I'm still in pain and still not even so waiting to see how it goes. Each breast went through a different procedure so I'll keep you posted. Updated on 13 Mar 2014: Hopefully will even out soon. Updated on 13 Mar 2014: Still have allot of sensitivity. I have found a warm rice pillow really helps. Seeing the doc. Next week for a follow up. Updated on 16 Mar 2014: 23 days out. Seems to be progressing. Discomfort still there but soon much better. Updated on 16 Mar 2014: This is what they looked like in my clothes 12 days out. I'm happy with the results and think they look very natural. Updated on 16 Mar 2014: 20 days out in new swimsuit top. Updated on 17 Mar 2014: Red shirt with padded bra before breast augmentation blue is after augmentation of 375cc. Updated on 17 Mar 2014: Updated on 17 Mar 2014: 25 days out. Wish the lifted one would catch up to the other side. Have my follow up with the doctor tomorrow. Updated on 17 Mar 2014: 25 days Updated on 18 Mar 2014: If you didn't notice the doctor cut all the way around both my areola's and one has a vertical incision from the lollipop lift. Then there is another incision in the crease underneath. Everyday after my shower I put on the silicone ointment and then the scar sheets. The doctor did say he couldn't believe the scars were less than a month out. I do believe these products have helped so I am posting a photo of them. Updated on 18 Mar 2014: They are still uneven. This was part of the plan so when they settle they will be even. Doctor said to massage them and that they look great at this early stage in recovery. Updated on 18 Mar 2014: I only try and take them off once a day to limit pulling on the breast. I also only clean them with warm water when they loose sticky power. Helps keep stuff from rubbing on incisions and helps healing. They last 4 to 7 days. Cost is about $20 per box. Generic is cheaper but stickier. I would use brand name for the first couple of weeks. Updated on 20 Mar 2014: Pain has become very manageable. Found out I went from a 32 c to a 32DDD. That was a surprise. Had lots of fun at VS today. Updated on 22 Mar 2014: Got my new VS bra! Updated on 23 Mar 2014: Love my new shape! I feel young again:-) Updated on 28 Mar 2014: Day 36. Feeling pretty good. Only notice minor discomfort at times. Nipples still ate a little to sensitive but getting better. Almost feel normal. Updated on 28 Mar 2014: Day 36 Updated on 4 Apr 2014: 44 days out. One with the lollipop lift is still higher. The doctor said it could take about 6 months. I am the only one who notices. Nipples seem to be looking note alike. Still using scar gel and silicone sheets. Sheets don't look cool but who cares under your clothes and I want good long term results. Lollipop lift on one and purse string lift on the other. Updated on 13 Apr 2014: It's amazing how well the lollipop lift had healed cannot be fast enough for me though. Here are two pics with a month in between. Surgery date was 2/20/14 Updated on 18 Apr 2014: Yeah. Two months out and they look way more even. Scarring continues to improve. Love the Victoria secret dream angels demi lightly lined. Updated on 18 Apr 2014: They keep getting better and feel great! Updated on 18 Apr 2014: My new favorite bra! Bra shopping was fun before but I got the look I wanted until I took the push up bra with all the padding off. Now no padding! !!! Yeah. Updated on 18 Apr 2014: Okay just one more I love the new bras! Updated on 24 Apr 2014: Boobs are way more even my body is slightly tuned in the photo. Updated on 24 Apr 2014: Finally feel like they are sticking out the way they are supposed to. When they were high the nipples were more downward. Feeling great. Back to my old self. Updated on 1 May 2014: 9 weeks out and happy Updated on 2 May 2014: Loving my results Updated on 10 Sep 2014: Feeling really good about my results no longer think about size or compare myself to others as much. I feel I have the right size for my body and my personal style. Updated on 16 Sep 2014: Feeling great. Updated on 6 Feb 2015: Closer to 50 than I am to 40! Way to start the new year. My motto work on what you can:-) Updated on 6 Feb 2015: I always thought my lower body looked larger than it was because the upper body was so small I feel really evened out now. Bra is a sale one from VS. Updated on 6 Feb 2015: Now I don't have to situate them! Updated on 6 Feb 2015: before BA Updated on 6 Feb 2015: Wanted these side by side major difference in clothes! Updated on 8 Feb 2015: Didn't know how much better I like them now until I got my before pics back! Updated on 8 Feb 2015: At 11 months they are pretty soft. Updated on 8 Feb 2015: I left a photo out. Updated on 1 May 2015: Very happy with the continual progress. I am 5'4" and 115 lbs. I went from a small 32C to a 32DDD. I have a curvy frame and wanted my top to match my bottom. Scars are extremely minimal at this time. My husband says he can't even see them. Updated on 1 May 2015: I took the original photos down because I hated them so much but because so many of you are very concerned about the early results I thought I'd repost my beginning results against my current results. Updated on 24 May 2016: So glad I did this still.
Billings Plastic Surgery and Yellowstone Surgical Center was amazing! I was always greeted with smiles and the staff seemed genuinely excited for me. They have been extremely helpful and amazingly supportive! Didn't actually spend a lot of time with my PS, but he was very professional when I did. Updated on 26 Jun 2013: I live in Wyoming and got my surgery done in Montana, so we had to travel and stay a couple of days. The day before surgery, I had a pre-op exam to get tested for nicotine and get drawn on. I have been an on-off smoker since I was 12 so they needed to make sure I didn't have any nicotine in my system. My PS won't operate on any one who does smoke. The appointment was quick and to the point. He drew on me and explained to me again what exactly he was going to to and what to expect in the morning at the surgery center. I went on with my day in the city and my husband and I made sure we had everything we needed at the hotel for after the surgery. My surgery was scheduled for 7:30 and I was to arrive at the surgery center at 6:15, they got me checked in very quickly and I began to nervously wait for them to take me back. They took me back at 6:30 and I had a great conversation with the nurse who got an IV in me, then brought my husband to the room. I got a warm blanket and was just making jokes until the anethesiologist came in and asked pretty much the same questions the nurse did when she first brought me back. He then took me into the OR and climbed on up on the table and had about 5 people milling around me at once, one apologized if I felt I was being mauled, I didn't and then my anethesiologist said he was injecting the sedative and I would start to feel.......and I woke up in the recovery room. Ha! I apparently did not wake up like most people. They told my husband I would be in the recovery room for about 45 minutes, but I was in there for 2 hours. I woke up and had a hard time staying awake but kept forcing myself to keep my eyes open. They took me to a different room and brought my husband in. I felt....tired, that was all...and thirsty. I probably drank a gallon of water in the hour I was in there. I again kept falling asleep but told my husband to talk to me or something because I wanted to get out of there, but they wouldn't let me leave until I was nice and awake. I was pretty doped up on percoset and sore but nothing that I couldn't handle. My doc came in and I smiled right away, he was pleased to see me in such good spirits. He said he took out a little over 1.5 lbs out of each breast. He told me he used skin glue, so there are no visible stiches and it will look bloody and scabby for quite a while until the skin glue comes off. We were released and went back to the hotel where I just slept most of the time. The next morning I had a follow-up appointment and that too went quickly. My PS was at a conference so I just dealt with his nurses, who again were FANTASTIC! She unwrapped me and looked at everything and said it looked great and helped me into a surgical bra and gave me one to take home. It is a size 40 C. She told me what to watch out for (red areas that are hot, one breast swelling to a noticible difference, any fever...I think that is about it) and sent me on my way! I had an anchor incision and it was a maintence free surgery, so no drains. My follow-up appointment was scheduled for a month after surgery. Updated on 26 Jun 2013: Alright, so I hear a lot of women who says there wasn't that much pain and they were only on the pain meds for a few days after surgery.... not the case with me. For one, after a few pain meds, I start to build up a resistence and they don't work; two, I have feeling EVERYWHERE on my breasts. My nipples felt like they were constantly trying to get hard (until today actually, 13 days post-op) and my skin felt everything! Any little thing that brushes up against me, I feel. Before the surgery, I didn't have a whole lot of feeling in my nipples, and now it feels like they are super sensitive. I was/still am in pain. They only gave me like 15 percoset and by Monday (4 days post) I was almost out. You can't get a stong pain killer called in, it has to be written, and with me being so far away, I had to deal with the pain. She had me take some pictures and email to her and it all looked good. They called in some lidocaine cream for my nipples (thank goodness) and some vicodin (that stuff sucked). I had to have my husband help me with bathing, I just couldn't do it without being in horrible pain. The pain is less now but I still have to take it easy and take some IBprofen and I take one or two of the vicoden a day...it helps when I get to point of crying. The overall pain has lessened (when I don't decide to clean my floors or tub) but now I am having quite the zingers. Those are painful. Shooting pains in the breasts. So we will see how it gets.... I will keep you updated.
I am so incredibly excited to start my BA journey! I have my consult with Dr Muskett coming up on February 15th, 10 days away!!! I live 4 hours from Billings, but I know he is the best in the state, and well worth the drive. I always knew I would need a boob job from about 14 years old, when I realized my girls weren't developing like my friends. I would watch the Spice Girls music videos and dream of having cleavage like them. Haha. I've always been an A to a small B except when I was breastfeeding. Queue my best Samuel L Jackson impression, "Hold on to your butts"... my boobs were a large 34DD when I was breastfeeding (I'll try and find some pictures to attach). Who knew they had it in them?!?! Well, like most women, after weaning, they shrank back down to a healthy 34B, where they've been for the last 5 years. So in December, I decided it was finally time to restore my girls to their former, albeit brief, glory! I am hoping to get silicone or gummy implants that are high profile as I love the look and silhouette of the upper pole. I currently have some slight side boob, but I'm perfectly happy with how it looks now. Side boob has never really been my thing, however, I do want to and up with a great hourglass figure, as I'm more pear shaped now. I've been told that Dr Muskett won't overfill the breast pocket, so I'm hoping he will be able to get me to a large 34DD. My goal implant size is in the range of 435cc to 485cc. I should also say that while I’m at my consultation, I’m going to ask Dr Muskett about possible scar revision treatments for my C-Section scar on my lower abdomen. After having my first almost 14 years ago, as the scar was healing, it was almost like it had adhered to my abdominal muscles. It pulls up okay, but when pulling it down, it catches. I used to go get steroid injections into the scar, but those didn’t seem to help. After I had my daughter almost 6 years ago, I had been hoping the problem would correct itself, however, it stayed the same. Hopefully it’ll be an easy fix, as I don’t think I need a full or mini tummy tuck. I've loved this site and meeting women from all over who are sharing their stories and photos. I've attached photos for my before, a couple photos from breastfeeding, as well as a couple wish pics. I can't wait to update you all over the course of this journey and I'll respond to comments as quick as I can. Much love to you all!! Updated on 16 Feb 2021: So I had my consultation with Dr Muskett yesterday, 2/15/21. It went better than I could have ever imagined. Dr Muskett was so patient with me, and answered all of my questions. He did all of his measurements, my BWD is 13.5cm, and the space between my nipple and the crease of my breast is 7cm. He said these were the most optimal measurements. He couldn’t believe I had breastfed 2 kids and was quite impressed with how well my breast tissue had held up. After he was done measuring, he said a 445cc would “brighten them right up”, so so his nurse left and came back with a wide array of sizes for me to try. I tried from 385cc moderate to 485cc high profile. I chose the 445cc as my favorites, before even knowing the size, knowing that those were the ones Dr Muskett had said had said would be perfect for me. That right there is what solidified my confidence in him as a surgeon who has mastered his craft. We talked about a possible scar revision for my messed up c-section scar, and he was very honest with the fact that it might potentially cut out a portion of my rose tattoo that I have in the vicinity. Ultimately, I decided that I won’t be doing the scar revision at the same time as my breast augmentation. Who knows though, I might change my mind and add that back on. I’m going to be doing some at home sizers to try on with different shirts to make sure the 445cc is exactly what I want and that it looks good with different outfits. I’ll post those photos when I get around to it. Thank you for following along! Surgery is tentatively scheduled for 3/15, so one month away!! I might potentially move the surgery to the week of 3/28, as my kids are on spring break that week, and that would make travel arrangements to Billings a little easier. I’ll update if there are any changes and post homemade sizer photos soon! Updated on 17 Feb 2021: After looking through my work schedule, my kids school schedule, and my husbands work schedule, I spoke with Susan at Billings Plastic Surgery and got my surgery date moved to March 30th at 11:15. This will actually be much better since we’ll be coming from 4 hours away. I’m so excited to have this booked!! Now I just have to make some home sizers and play with the different sizes and get that all situated. Updated on 23 Feb 2021: So who would have thought making your own sizers at home would be so easy? I grabbed box of 10 knee high nylons, a 5lb bag of rice and was all set! I found that I don’t really have a lot of form fitting shirts or shirts that look okay with a stuffed sports bra, so it’s hard to really try clothes on with these things. So I’m attaching photos of just me in my sports bra. I think over the next few days I’ll try on the sizers with just my regular push up bras and see what they look like with some of my more form fitting shirts. I don’t really see a noticeable difference between the sizes, except for the 405 and 485. Definitely a difference there. Ultimately, the 445cc is still my favorite, but I’ve decided I will just wear the different sizers all day so I can get a true feeling of what the extra weight will be like. Dr Muskett said anything over 400cc, and you’ll start to be able to feel it in your neck and back. Yesterday I wore the 485cc all day and didn’t notice anything. Today I’ve got the 445cc on, and am feeling great. At this point I’ve pretty much eliminated the 405cc, as I don’t want to go too small. I still love the 445cc, but am totally diggin the 485cc! My only hesitation with the 485cc is that since they are the high profile, they are only 13cm wide, and my BWD is 13.5. I’m worried they would be too narrow. The high profile implant that is 13.5cm is 560cc, and that for sure is way too big. Dr Muskett’s nurse said once I make my decision on the implant size, they’ll still put a few different sizes in me during surgery and sit me up so everyone in the OR can weigh in on how the look. I kind of like that idea of getting the consensus from the group. Lol. Honestly, at this point, anything is an improvement, so I’ll be happy to take what I get; whether that’s the 445 moderate, or 485 high profile. Updated on 23 Feb 2021: Huh... that’s weird... it cut my pictures off really funny. I guess I’ll try and post these two again, so you can see what the rice sizers look like, as well as the instructions on how to measure them out. Not sure why it cropped them all funny? Updated on 30 Mar 2021: On my way to my appointment right now! I’m super nervous but am so excited!!! Updated on 30 Mar 2021: Surgery went awesome! I arrived at 11:15 and my RN Krista took me back, checked my vitals, got me changed into a gown and started an IV. She brought me warm blankets and heat packs to keep me warm. She was absolutely fantastic! Dr Muskett came in at some point and drew on me with a sharpie under my breasts. We discussed implant size and what I decided. I asked about doing 520cc, but he said my breasts just wouldn’t support an implant that large. So we settled on the 485cc full profile, but I let him know that if those were going to be too big that he could definitely put the 445cc moderate profile in. He explained the procedure to me and kept asking if I had any questions that he could answer, which I thought was great. He has too notch communication and an outstanding bedside manner. A little while later my anesthesiologist came in and we talked about my medical history, medications I take, and explained the anesthesia process to me. He also asked if I had any questions that he could answer. He also had an incredible bedside manner, very calming and totally put me at ease. Any nervousness that I had completely went away. After that, my OR RN Betsy came in and we confirmed implant size. She let me know that it wouldn’t be too much longer and apologized for the long wait that I had. I told her it wasn’t a big deal and that I didn’t mind at all. I mean, I figured I had waited 20 years for bigger boobs, what’s another hour or two ¯\_(?)_/¯ Since I was the last case of the day, I didn’t actually go back to the OR until 1:45, which was totally okay with me. I work in a hospital on the inpatient surgical unit, so I get how easy it is to get backed up. They gave me my sleepy time meds, and it was lights out! I woke up in PACU with Krista my RN and my anesthesiologist around 2:35. They said that surgery went well and that they put in the 485cc implants. Krista got me some pain meds and got me some water and a diet 7up to drink. I handle anesthesia really well so thankfully I didn’t have any nausea. I got to have my first look at my new boobs, and holy cow, they look incredible! I’ve read so many reviews on here where people get the square high up boxy looking boob, and I don’t have that at all! I’m really surprised because they were placed under the muscle. I’m hoping this means they will drop and fluff faster! I’m really not in a lot of pain at the moment. I set my alarm tonight for every 4 hours so I can keep on top of the pain. I’m really hoping that I feel just as great tomorrow as I do today. I have my follow up appointment tomorrow morning at 10:00, so hopefully they take the bra off, so I can see them in all their glory! I’ll post more pics and give another update then! Updated on 31 Mar 2021: Last night was really good! I was a little sore so I set my alarm for every 4 hours so I could wake up and take an oxy5 and then every other time I could take 1000mg of Tylenol and th muscle relaxer with it. I figured overnight I wanted to keep on top of the pain and not get behind on my meds. I know from work being on the inpatient surgical floor that it’s much easier to stay up on top of the pain, rather than playing catch-up. My wedge pillow that o got from Bed Bath and Beyond is actually really comfortable! Due to my own stupidity of taking all of my meds at 8am on an empty stomach (my thyroid med, my BP meds, my oxy, my Tylenol, and my muscle relaxer) I was super nauseated. I took a zofran to try and combat it, but what I really needed was probably some food. I went in for my appointment at 10:00 and met with Mandy RN. She was so kind and amazing. I had let her know that I was feeling nauseated and she immediately asked if I need a prescription for nausea meds. When I let her know that I had brought my own from home and taken one, she asks what she could get me to eat. She returned with a tube of saltine crackers and a diet 7up. She helped me get my shirt off and my post op bra off so I could see the new girls. She said hat everything looked absolutely great, and she went over the post op care with me again. She took a picture to show Dr Muskett as he was in the OR working his magic on someone else at that time. She Hav me a second post op bra and showed me some suggestions of other brands and styles that I could get online. She stressed to me that it should not be too constricting, which I fear all of my sports bras at home will be. I’m heading back home from Billings to Clancy tomorrow morning. I’m not really looking forward to the 4 hour drive. I told my husband to try his best and not his any bumps on the interstate along the way. Lol. I just woke up from a nap where I was laying a little more flat, and I still feel great! I’m so astonished at how mild the pain and discomfort have been!! Dr Muskett truly is a magician! Here are some pictures of the new girls! Updated on 31 Mar 2021: I figured I’d try again to get the other 3 photos to post you can see the other angles of the new girls... Updated on 3 Apr 2021: This is a day late, but here are a couple of photos from day 3! I’m loving how they are sitting already, and know they will drop into place quite nicely! Updated on 14 Apr 2021: So I missed posting at 1 week post op, but here they are at 2 weeks! I haven’t really noticed a change in them except maybe the swelling has gone down slightly? My right (the one on the side with the tattoo) has always looked like it’s dropped more from day 1, but maybe that’s jut my natural shape. I’m still super happy with my results. I’m really glad I went with the 485 full profile and I’m happy to know that my doctor couldn’t fit a larger implant in me. I confidently say I won’t have boob greed. Lol. I’ve been wearing a mix of post op bras and sports bras pretty much 24/7 except for when I shower. I got back to work tonight at the hospital (I’m a CNA) and I’m a little worried about lifting and helping patients move. My plan is to just take it easy and ask for help when I need it. I have my 3 week follow up appointment in the 26th, one day before I’m officially 4 weeks. I’m curious to hear what Dr Muskett has to say about the unevenness of them. Who knows, maybe in a couple weeks the left will catch up to my right.
The two issues in your situation are excess skin and the weakening of the abdominal wall. These can be addressed with abdominoplasty. If you hoping to have insurance coverage you will need a referral from your primary care physician. It is important to understand that the prior surgical procedures, especially involving a hernia and a patch, can make the situation more complex.
When I reviewed the literature on this subject, the figure that I saw was two months, but that was not a prospective controlled trial. What is equally important is postoperative smoking. We test patients for nicotine one month prior to the procedure and then the morning of the procedure. Problems have occurred when the patient resumes smoking after the procedure. Quitting before is not enough, whether it is 4 weeks or 8 weeks. We are not trying to be mean or judgmental with the nicotine, we just don't want you to have a nasty open wound. Also, nicotine ages you likely nothing else.
I agree that sizing at a consultation is critical. Rather than cup size, think in terms of the implant size, which is expressed in cubic centimeters (CCs).Remember that above 400 cc in size, implants can begin to significantly affect your muscles and bones. Most of the patients we see with "J cups" are looking to get smaller breasts because of neck and back pain.
I saw your question on Real Self about the lower eyelids. I think the lower lid laser option would probably be best for the fine lines--I don't think you require any surgical approach at this time. A little Botox works very well also in addition.
I agree that you will need a combination of skin removal and suctioning. My recommendation would be to have the procedure done in the spring sometime, and before then exercise as much as possible to improve your fitness for surgery and to get rid of as much excess fat as possible, so the surgeon can remove even more skin. There have been some good studies showing improved postoperative outcomes with preoperative exercise regimens.
