51, F, 5', 100 lbs. 11/2017 had all teeth removed, all-on-4 implants procedure. Surgery, IV sedation, under for 12 hours. Implants were placed 'free hand' is what I was told. Original surgeon abandoned the practice after 2 years so they brought in a replacement. It has taken a total of 5 years and 3 different labs to get a prosthetic to fit properly. They have now sent me a certified letter stating that they will not see me anymore. What could be my future concerns?
I am a 52-year-old woman. I have a bridge in the upper left which covers the last three teeth ( the middle tooth is missing obviously). My dentist has been nudging me to get an implant for a while now. But the bridge has been there for about 30 years and works well. The only thing I worry about is the bone loss. I can feel with my finger the width of the bone is about 2/3 of the adjacent bone. My question is: if I don't do implant, how bad can the bone loss become ? say I live to the age of 80. Thank you!
Im a 47 year old male with two abscesses.. One on tooth 19 and the other on 30. Both are failed root canals and both cannot have re treatment root canals done. My Dentist wanted to pull both and do implants. I asked for a second opinion and they referred me to a Endodontist. Had an Apico done on 19 and will have one done on 30. They said if I pulled 19 id still have to bone graft wait for 6 mos. If the apico fails can I still do a extract/graft/implant?
I'm 46 yrs old. 10 yrs ago due to periodontal disease with bone loss on both sides of upper molars, I did flapping and bone grafting. Last year I lost my left upper premolar due to failed root canal and now have an implant. Currently bone loss is severe on both sides of upper molars. An Endodonist pulled my first and second left molars and did bone grafting for implants even though I wasn't in pain, the teeth were not decayed nor loose. He said implants would save me money in the long run.
One of my teeth (had a filling from cavity before) is in need of a root canal/implant. The problem is a previous root canal several months ago has left me with some trismus. At this stage/age is it better to go with a root canal or simply go straight to an implant?
I still have a fistula, and have been told a bone graft is a must. I have a bad underbite as well. The place I went locally doesn't deal with insurance at all. I can't continue to live like this. Glue from dentures creeps thru fistula and I have to pick it out with a q-tip. I can't eat hardly anything. Any organizations that may help??? I also am curious as to any problems w implants???
Already have worn dentures for years so retention is poor to start. I am only 50 years old and first dentures were received in my 40's. It has been a lifelong endevour to smile. Had that for 6 months though back in 1998... Every dentist visit leaves me with a treatment plan way out of my ability to afford it. What can I do with ten thousand dollars so I can at least become employed? No one will hire me looking like this. Thank you.
Im a 47 years old male with no medical conditions. Last week my root canaled crown ( 4 years old) fell off breaking underneath tooth. In last week I consulted 4 orthodontist & one Periodontist. Two strongly suggested implants and two suggested post & core with crown lengthening(around 4-5 years life without affecting future implant). Does it look like a case where post & core is an option, Im fine if it works for 4-5 years provided this will not negatively impact future implant procedure?
When I talk it appears that i have no upper teeth. This just happened over the past 5 years. I have worn dentures since I was in my early twenties. I keep them in all the time. Even when sleeping. I only take them out when I brush and clean them every day. Can you suggest something that can reverse the receding or can a new denture with more gum perhaps help?
