Ive recently been told I need 2 bone grafts, 1 on the top, 1 on the bottom. The main thing is that my dentist is refusing to use synthetic material for the graft and said only human or animal will work (the thought disgusts me), I know 100% I need a graft on the bottom but I feel as if it is not necessary to do the top. I inserted an image of my X-rays, I need the grafts where my molars are missing.
I had two evaluations from two respected periodontists. They looked at my X-rays and CT scan. I have fixed small brigdge that I need to replace with two implants. One doctor told me that I needed bone graf and he could placed the implants right away. The other one told me to do bone graf first, wait four months and then he could place the implants after that period. Any suggestions?
From the x-ray, it shown the bone loss around both of the bottom front teeth from periodontal disease. To prevent from losing it, I want to save both the teeth. I'd been told nothing can be done but after I read testimonials from people who faced the same predicament I doubt it. Please advised.
My friend said his dentist always does bone grafting after tooth extraction because the bone that grows back is not as strong as grafted bone. Some of my extractions are between 5 to 10 years old, x-rays show good bone. I have 5 implants that are a year old. One of my implants was placed after an extraction no infection was present. Is bone grafting always the best way to go.
I had a block bone graft on congenitally missing #7 and #10 two weeks ago. I was told previously that there was no space. Now I am afraid of gingival recession and damage to my adjacent teeth. Do I have enough space? Pictures and xrays are 10 days after bone graft.
I had tooth #14 extracted due to abcess and bone graft placed on 8/2/13. I have had worsening pain since Monday.I've only experienced slight relief when the sealant came out of the gum on Thursday (in 2, 1cm sized chunks. is that normal?).Yesterday, the doctor said everything looks great and the xray looked good.Because I was in so much pain he put me on a stronger antibiotic and gave me flexeril to take before bed (possibly grinding my teeth at night). I am feeling extreme pain at this point.
