I got the approval from my plastic surgeon to start scar therapy on Feb 2. My Dr. said I can do whatever pleases me( silicone sheets, bio oil, Vit E, Maderna, etc). Im wondering if I can moisturize with bio oil in the morning and then wait some time for the skin to absorb and then put silicone sheets on the incision site of my breast augmentation scars. Would this be okay?
What is the scientific consensus on a post breast augmentation scar healing? Do silicone sheets etc work? Do they maybe work so its worth it? What is the scientific way that they work? Booked for a BA in two weeks (inframammary fold incision). My c section scar fhealed ok but is darker pigmented (six years old scar). Id like a better scar for my BA! Thanks for your thoughts :)
I am almost 7 months post op, NON absorbable sutures were used so this isnt a spitting stitch. I showed my surgeon and I was told all is normal , but it HURTS and it does not look like the rest of the scar. I was instructed to continue using silicone sheeting and massage, but it still does not show improvement it appears worse. It looks like a blood blister that just wont go away. Any advice is appreciated im just very lost on what this is and what to do. Thank you
My surgeon instructed me to use silicone strips to reduce scarring from breast augmentation. I am 6 weeks, 1 day post up. I just started the strips yesterday and was cleared to do so. After about 24 hours of strip wear, my left incision has become itchy and red, so needless to say I am concerned. Could I be having an allergic reaction. (Photos for reference).
I switched from massaging my scars with bio oil to just using silicon sheets now . The bio oil was causing my scars to be red so my plastic surgeon told me to switch to silicon sheets ... however .. my scars still seem really deep and raised ! Is this normal for 8 weeks post op? Anything else I can do to help the scars fade and look better ? Should I use the bio oil in conjunction with the silicon sheets ?
My ps said I could use silicone sheets at 3 weeks post op, but I tried using them today and when I removed it to shower it seemed to pull on the little stitch that I cut close to my skin and now it feels irritated. Should I be using them if the stitch hadn't dissolved yet?
