Hello! I've had these folds below my nostrils when I smile for all of my life. I recently tried botox to address them, but it didn't work. I was injected right at the folds, and since that is usually done to address gummy smile I was given a lip flip as well so that my smile wouldn't droop too much. My lips are fuller but there was no change to the folds. Could plastic surgery or some other treatment help? Is there any term for these folds?
This is my third time getting a lip flip combined with a small unit of Botox next to my left nostril as the left side of my top lip is much higher than the right. The first time it looked great! Now its the third time getting it done and the left side of my lip has dropped so low and my smile is slanted.I am so sad. What can I do? Can I massage the area to make it fade faster? I know it lasts 3-6 months, but when will it START to fade?
Hello:) Can Botox correct nose widening when smiling, cause the corners of my nose moves not only into sides, but also goes up. Nostrils become very big and I look angry when smiling. Also, a harsh wrinkle forms between nose and upper lip when smiling, it evens hurts a little bit. But won't Botox create even worse smile? I am also considering lip lift surgery. Could it soften that wrinkle when smiling as there will be less skin between nose and lip? :)
I'm pretty sure this is different to bunny lines botox, as I've had that done and it made no difference to my issue I have muscle hypertrophy/excess tension in the muscles running down each side of my nose, along the nasal bone side walls, ending just above the nostril area. These are the muscles that can make a snarl expression. I think they're called levator labii superioris alaeque nasi The size of the muscles adds width to my mid-nose which I want to reduce. Is this safe/possible?
I notice that my nostrils flare a lot when I talk and seem to be simulating a breathing pattern? I have a deviated septum and have seldom been able to breath out of my nose, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I tried to talk to my dermatologist about it, but she said there was nothing that can be done as the muscles in my nostrils are too small and I could paralyze parts of my nose I don't want paralyzed with botox. Is there any other cosmetic procedure that can help with this?
I had a nose job 15 years ago and am generally happy with my nose at repose. However, the surgery didn't do much to prevent my nose from changing and looking terrible when I smile. Upon close consideration, my tip does not droop when smiling, but rather the nostrils spread and the alar seems to pull up and gives the illusion that my tip is lowered when it is in fact not. I would hate to undergo a revision rhinoplasty. Can't botox be injected into this area to stop the nose from spreading so much?
I have a tendency to squint or have my eyes closed while pictures are being taken and a pretty gummy smile. In October, I had Botox injections around my eyes and right between my nose and upper lip. Long story short I like the way the eyes turned out but I can't smile now unless I completely force it. I'm worried that I won't be able to smile again because I've read here that Botox should wear off within 4 mos, this is my 3rd month. Are the effects of Botox ever permanent?
Hello,2 days ago I got a small amount of botox injected on the right under my septum and under my right nostril. The desired outcome is my nostrils would be more symmetrical. My left nostril is slightly longer then the right. I was under the impression the Docter would have injected the left (longer side) but he said he needed to do the right shorter side to make the muscle relax and lower my nostril. I see the right side of my upper lip has risen! I'm scared he made have made a mistake?
