After waiting a year and a half, I finally had my breast explant surgery with Dr. Rankin—and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From the very first consultation, Dr. Rankin and his team were warm, compassionate, and incredibly supportive. I felt completely at ease and cared for throughout the entire process.

I was especially nervous because I don’t have much natural breast tissue, but my results honestly exceeded all my expectations. Even early in the healing process, they look amazing—so natural and better than I ever imagined. Dr. Rankin is a truly gifted surgeon with an eye for detail and a genuine care for his patients.

What’s even more amazing is how much better I feel overall. Several symptoms I had—like persistent eye allergies, gut issues, and neck pain—cleared up after surgery, and I hadn’t even realized they were related to my implants. I feel healthier, lighter, and more like myself again.

If you’re considering explant surgery, I can’t recommend Dr. Rankin enough. He gave me back my health and confidence. I only wish I had done it sooner.

I had smooth saline implants placed under the muscle in 2012 and developed symptoms of Breast Implant Illness (BII) within the first year. I didn’t know what BII was for the first several years, but once I learned about it I started researching how to move forward with explant surgery. I consulted with at least four surgeons across multiple states before I found Dr. Rankin. Once I viewed his website I instantly knew he was the surgeon for me. His after photos spoke for themselves and illustrated his skill level and artistic ability to reconstruct the breasts in a way that appeared natural and flattering. My initial consultation with his explant liaison went wonderfully, and I chose to book my surgery right then and there. At the time he was booking out about 12-13 months (a testament to the demand for his work). I was okay with waiting if it meant I had the best surgeon. Luckily, I was able to move my appointment up 4 months early thanks to being on the waitlist. I highly recommend you request placement on the waitlist if you’re hoping to get in sooner than your original appointment.

I saw Dr. Rankin on June 17 for an explant with lift and could not be happier with the treatment I’ve received from him and his team, or the results I have thus far. My mother - who had a breast reduction and lift 20 years ago, and was the head OR nurse for a plastic surgeon at the time - said she couldn’t believe how beautiful my results looked immediately after surgery. I’m also pleasantly surprised by the aesthetic results already, as well as the incredibly low pain levels I have experienced. I opted to do a nerve block because I have a low pain tolerance in general. I barely had any pain in the first 72 hours post-op, with minor discomfort in the upper peck muscles due to my implants being placed so high by my previous surgeon. Even the drains have been comfortable. The nerve block has worn off and I still feel incredible considering I just had surgery. I believe that preparing my body with the right nutrients and movement prior to surgery helped with that, but I also believe it’s proof that Dr. Rankin is so skilled in what he does and gentle with his patients.

I traveled from Tennessee to see Dr. Rankin in Florida and it’s been worth every penny so far. I am excited for my continued healing and will report back with updates!

I can’t recommend Dr Rankin enough! When I first consulted with Dr Rankin and Dee Hicks, I felt right at home and at ease. He hires people with the best energy, his entire staff is amazing. When I met Dee I fell in love with her energy, she has the best aura unlike other people that work at different offices! Same thing with all of the nurses, front desk, etc. Which I think is so important because people remember how you make them feel. I’m so happy with my explant and lift, Dr Rankin is professional, gentle, and kind. No one else I would trust!!

I first made contact with Dee Hicks ! She was wonderful ! Answered all my questions and set up my consultation with Dr Rankin . I felt at ease and was ready to get my explant . I did book several months later to get prepared . My date was scheduled and I fell sick . Dee got me right back in . I had my explant Wednesday and I feel wonderful and grateful ! To say that I had the BEST experience ever with Dr. Rankin and his team is an understatement. From the initial call with Dee (the most caring, patient and caring coordinator), to my back and forths with Marina at the front desk and Tammy (my pre and post op nurse), to my surgery day team Paula (anesthesiologist) and Tausha (nurse), each interaction got better and better. Dr. Rankin is a top notch surgeon and is incredibly skilled. I am 3 weeks post op and could not feel happier.

This was my third surgery (breast aug after having had children, replacement of the initial implants due to a recall with a lift, and now an explant/lift). Dr. Rankin came HIGHLY recommended by a friend who had the same surgery with him 3 years ago. She healed so quickly and looks great.

Women heal when they are heard! A dear friend shared this with me and it is TRUTH!

2 years ago I went to Texas (from Florida) for removal of my implants. Having two children under 4 it was not the easiest decision but I knew I had to have them removed asap. I knew with my support team I could get it done.

Roughly 8 months after my surgery I noticed a hardness around my left pectoral muscle. Many messages, phone calls, videos, and pictures were sent to the office in Texas. Every reply I was minimized of my concerns and each passing few weeks it was getting larger. After 3 months I decided to reach out to a patient advocate… she immediately referred me over to Dee Hicks. Dee works for Dr. Rankin at Aqua Plastic Surgery in Jupiter. Three minutes into our first phone call I felt like she was hugging me through the phone. I felt HEARD! UNDERSTOOD! and knew I was on the right path for recovery. ?????
When we hung up the phone we had a plan, there was ACTION! I started collecting all documents and images of my chest so I could meet Dr. Rankin and have any questions and concerns answered. within such a reasonable time they got me scheduled. I appreciate communication when working with any office!
When my appointment came to meet Rankin I was blown away at how peaceful the entire process was. Checking in was smooth and front desk is AWESOME! To-date every time I call someone answers- when is the last time you can say that about an office?
Dr. Rankin is so professional and so easy to talk to. We figured out what was going on with me. I had a seroma and it needed to be removed. The fluid has sat there so long that a capsule formed around it. Ta-da!! Something was wrong.
Dr. Rankin listens and speaks to you as a friend. Using language and explains as though you don’t know- because most of us don’t and understanding is important! Asking doctors questions can be so intimidating- not with Rankin. His presence is so welcoming. He heard my concerns… and he made my concerns his. They got me on the schedule as soon as they could. Day of surgery was excellent. Tausha, THE nurse- she’s phenomenal. I felt confident and comfortable going into surgery.
I am day three post and I have had multiple check-ins and I feel knowledgeable in what was done to me and what I need to do to heal the best possible.

I’m so grateful to share that I’ve officially had my explant surgery with the incredible Dr. Rankin — and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better team to walk beside me through this chapter.

Because my schedule is flexible, and that I live 2 hrs away, I was on a wait list to fill in for a last minute cancelation. I got the call literally a month before surgery. It all moved super quick.

From my first consultation to the moment I woke up post-op, I felt safe, heard, and supported. Dr. Rankin’s knowledge, skill, and compassion made such a difference in my healing journey, and I can’t thank him enough for his dedication to women’s health. You can see by my very recent results that my breasts still look beautiful even at three weeks post op. I am grateful and excited about growing older naturally, and gracefully.
