Amazing Experience and Results So Far!

I had smooth saline implants placed under the muscle in 2012 and developed symptoms of Breast Implant Illness (BII) within the first year. I didn’t know what BII was for the first several years, but once I learned about it I started researching how to move forward with explant surgery. I consulted with at least four surgeons across multiple states before I found Dr. Rankin. Once I viewed his website I instantly knew he was the surgeon for me. His after photos spoke for themselves and illustrated his skill level and artistic ability to reconstruct the breasts in a way that appeared natural and flattering. My initial consultation with his explant liaison went wonderfully, and I chose to book my surgery right then and there. At the time he was booking out about 12-13 months (a testament to the demand for his work). I was okay with waiting if it meant I had the best surgeon. Luckily, I was able to move my appointment up 4 months early thanks to being on the waitlist. I highly recommend you request placement on the waitlist if you’re hoping to get in sooner than your original appointment.

I saw Dr. Rankin on June 17 for an explant with lift and could not be happier with the treatment I’ve received from him and his team, or the results I have thus far. My mother - who had a breast reduction and lift 20 years ago, and was the head OR nurse for a plastic surgeon at the time - said she couldn’t believe how beautiful my results looked immediately after surgery. I’m also pleasantly surprised by the aesthetic results already, as well as the incredibly low pain levels I have experienced. I opted to do a nerve block because I have a low pain tolerance in general. I barely had any pain in the first 72 hours post-op, with minor discomfort in the upper peck muscles due to my implants being placed so high by my previous surgeon. Even the drains have been comfortable. The nerve block has worn off and I still feel incredible considering I just had surgery. I believe that preparing my body with the right nutrients and movement prior to surgery helped with that, but I also believe it’s proof that Dr. Rankin is so skilled in what he does and gentle with his patients.

I traveled from Tennessee to see Dr. Rankin in Florida and it’s been worth every penny so far. I am excited for my continued healing and will report back with updates!
