I am currently on accutane. I use a green tea/salicylic acid 2% foam cleanser only once a day ( usually at the end of the day). I read that using anything else on your skin while on accutane is not good because it causes excess irritation. Should i continue the use of this cleanser? can it hinder my accutane progress?
I am about to start Accutane as approved by my dermatologist. I have already started the ball rolling and I am waiting the month to start for a second negative pregnancy test. I ran out of face wash so I picked up a new one to hold me over. After three days of use, my skin started burning and peeling especially around the mouth and cheeks. Now (fourth day) it is completely red and scaly and hurts to touch. If I am having this reaction to Salicylic acid, is it still safe for me to try Accutane?
Hi, I am a 27 yo female. I have been on Accutane twice (2017- first round, 40mg 1 month, 60mg 2 months, 80mg 3 months. 2020- 40mg 1st month, 6mg 6 months). Both courses cleared my acne. I just finished the second course in July 2021 and recently I have developed these itchy, comedomal spots on my forehead. I have been using Salicylic acid + retinA since August 2021. What could it be? It started with one spot and in a week it spread. I feel very depressed and my Derm is no good.
Hi I have rosacea, oily skin and mild acne. I've had it under control the past year using a salicylic acid lotion and finacea. I struggled previously with these and was on antibiotics for a year. Now I have tiny little bumps forming all over my forehead. They're incredibly itchy. Along with a itchy scalp. I think it's Pityrosporum Folliculitis. What are the treatment options ? I know this disease has a high relapse rate so I'm worried. Has anyone had success treating this without relapse ?
Been on Accutane (80mg) 2x in 2009/2010. Hormonal acne. Salicylic/BP irritate skin, use sulfur for acne. I am thinking of trying Ambi Fade Cream (hydroquinone 2%). Tried prescription hydroquinone in previous years, but skin more irritate as acne was not under control. Also, I started having some facial hair below chin in past 2-3 years, never had this before. No females in my family have/had facial hair. I am considering Candela YAG laser for hair under chin, is this good option? Please advise.
I took my first course of Accutane at 19 and it was tremendously improved. Life changing to say the least. It seemed to come back again 3-4 yrs later and I took another full course. This happened again at 3-4 yrs later after the 2nd course and I needed it a 3rd time. Now 6 yrs later I've noticed my acne returning. I'm using salicylic acid, Retin A and nothing improves it. My skin has never responded to topical tx. My acne is minor but doesn't respond to tx. Is a 4th course of Accutane safe?
Ive been on Accutane for 3 month & I thought I was seeing clogged pore so I used my exfoliator brush, 3 days later woke up to tons on my face so I putted salicylic acid. After some research it most look like contact-allergic dermatitis. Before this I did saw those red patches on my face with those tiny clogged pore (mini blister) but thought it was part of Accutane treatment & lasted 3 days but now its all over my face and neck. Should I be worry, stop the treatment or do some kind of treatment?
Good day doctors. I just started taking 30mg Isotretinoin a couple of days ago. I have several questions that I would like to ask my derma but we won't see each other until after 10days. Can you help me with my questions? My questions are: 1. Is it okay to take Lactoferrin and/or Vitamin C and/or Zinc while I'm on Isotretinoin? 2. Is it normal for you acne to be very itchy while taking Isotretinoin? 3. Can I use tretinoin, salicylic acid and or benzoyl peroxide while taking Isotretinoin? Thanks!
