Hello, I have been on Accutane for around 12 weeks now. Accutane was primarily for my chest and back not as much for my face. When I began to get the breakout everyone seems to get while on accutane, my jawline broke out quite badly and has never seemed to heal. My jawline is quite red and has been since around week 3. Also My back and chest have gotten little improvements... The first month was 40mg/day and then then next two months have been 80mg/day. I am 17 years old and weigh about 155 lb
hello! i am a 14 yr old female, and i have had acne since i was about 12. my acne is moderate... i have had some flare ups which have resulted in my skin being covered with scars everywhere: my cheeks, chin, forehead, mouth area. in addition, my skin is very very oily, and my pores are bigger than normal. i have tried 2 acne medications and about 8 topical creams.
I'm a 15 yr old female and I'm currently taking accutane 20mg per day. This is my second week and I am having dry lips, but that's expected. What I've also been noticing is that my face constantly sheds skin, or peeling skin. Also I have been using a pretty drying face wash so that probably causes the peeling/flaking skin. Just to be sure, I stopped using the face wash and started using a PH balanced wash for my face. Does Accutane makes your skin peel alone? Thanks.
Ive been on accutane for 2 months now (40mg a day) and I started to get itchy rashes on my lower legs, it has now spread to my wrists and upper legs aswell. What do I use to treat them? And also, is my 40mg dosage too low? I'm a 17 year old female with mild facial and back acne and I weigh about 65kg's
My 17 year old son (weight 175) was prescribed Amnesteem, December 22, 2015, I just REALIZED he should be taking two pills daily (40mg x 2), instead of the 40mg. I will call our doctor tomorrow but realized this after the office had closed for the day. After reading some reviews, is it correct that he should remain on the 40 mg daily for 30 weeks instead of increasing to 80 mg (14 weeks complete)? he was supposed to take 80 mg daily for 20 weeks.
My sons dermatologist has put him on Acutane (30 mg. a day). I have read it stunts growth in teens. He is 12 and this is concerning to me. He has used Solodyn for about 6 months along with Epiduo. Then Aczone was added to his regime about three months ago. The regime seemed to work but he continued to have breakouts and now has scarring. We would take scarring over any possible long term physical damage. What would you recommend? Is there something else we could try and is he to young?
He suffers from severe acne. He plays football and the helmet and sweat make it impossible to clear his skin. He wants to play college football but needs to get to 6'5 to play his position. I have read that accutane could stunt his growth.
My son, 16 yrs old, has appointment with dermatologist next week to discuss starting Accutane treatment. Does he have to stop using the topical treatments (Retin A, amalactin) for any time period before starting Accutane?
My 16 year old son has struggled with moderate/severe acne for 2 yrs. The older he gets, the worse it gets. He uses 2 topicals and has used oral antibiotics for about a year but his doctor will not prescribe antibiotics anymore. She is pushing for accutane but this worries me. When he was 10-13 he was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. Through therapy he is much improved. Accutane is rumored to cause suicidal tendencies. Should I be concerned? Please help. Thank you
