I've been on Accutane for 18 weeks and I have not had any side effects. No dry skin. Not even dry lips. I still have my normal breakouts. My dermatologist thinks I'm not absorbing the medication. I weigh 100 pounds. He started me on 20mg once per day. Then after 8 weeks increased to 30mg. And now for the last 5 weeks I have been on 40mg once per day. How come i am not getting any dryness in my skin. Is the medication not working?
I have been on accutane (Zenatane) for two weeks now on 40mg. I'm confused because I only take one pill a day but I've seen so many people say that they take it twice a day and that its actually better for absorption that way. Also, my side effects haven't staryed yet- my lips are slightly more dry than usual but other than that nothing. I don't even think I've had an IB yet. I know accutane effects everyone different but when should I expect to see more side effects?
I've heard you should not take pills with milk because they don't absorbe into your body as much. But I heard you should take accutane with milk? I know you should take it with food, but I'm not sure if I should take it with milk.
I read that accutane needs to be taken with a fatty meal, so after a meal, I swallow 3/4 of a shot glass of olive oil and then I take the pill. Does taking large doses of oil affect the drug absorption in an way or should I just stick to other sources of fats - like almonds? Also is it common for side effects to come and go. Around January, my skin was excessively dry and it started to peel. At the moment it feels smooth but non oily. Obviously the dry lips have been constant.
Is having olive oil with your vegetables sufficient? Is hard-boils eggs OK to eat every day with claravis? i am unable to have peanuts so I am trying to find healthy fatty foods for better absorption of claravis.
I'm taking amoxicillin and accutane at the same time for severe acne and I wanted to know how long it takes after swallowing for these drugs to be absorbed. I also wanted to know if it is better to take amoxicillin with food because I know it is better to take accutane with a fatty meal.
Dear Doctor, Roche said: oral absorption of isotretinoin is enhanced when given with a high-fat meal. Both peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and the total exposure (AUC) of isotretinoin were more than doubled following a standardized high-fat meal when compared with Accutane given under fasted conditions. My meal while on Accutane just has normal fat like: pan-fried meat, vegetable, bread (no milk). Does it affect the absorption of Accutane? What's the key? Thank you, Doctor! Bests,
