Fraxel as well as most Fractional lasers whether CO2, erbium, Erbium Glass, and more all go deep enough to treat acne scars. Most go beyond 500 microns and help with acne scars. The operator is more than important the machine. See a Board Certified Dermatologist or Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.

There are three Fraxel Lasers, 1550, 1927, and 10600 mm wavelengths.
The original Fraxel 1550 mm Laser can help improve minimal scarring with multiple treatments. The Fraxel Repair Laser is a fractional CO2 laser that is much more aggressive and may give substantial improvement in one treatment especially when combined with subcision. The 1927 mm can help smooth superficial scarring by resurfacing down to approximately 200 microns depth in the skin.
