Glasses after Rhinoplasty
If the nasal bone are not broken, glasses can be worn immediately. Patients can wear glasses for the first 6 days after surgery because the nose is protected by the cast. After cast removal the bridge-piece of light glasses are taped to the forehead, avoiding pressure on the nose.

Rhinoplasty and eyewear
I advise my patients who have had bony alterations of the nose to tape their glasses to their forehead to take the pressure off of their nose for six weeks following rhinoplasty. Glasses have become so much lighter over the past several years that it is unlikely that you will cause any damage after that period of time. The use of loupes can make this a little more difficult. Loupes are heavier than regular glasses and they also have to be worn like reading glasses which will make taping...

Eyewear restrictions after rhinoplasty
I agree with Dr. Wallach's recommendations and did this myself when I had a rhinoplasty. Taping the glasses to forehead for about 6 weeks and light eyewear thereafter and no restrictions after 3 months.

Avoid loupes or glasses for a month after rhinoplasty
It is probably a good idea not to wear loupes or glasses for one month after rhinoplasty surgery. While it may not hurt the nose, the glasses will leave indentions in the soft tissue of the skin for many hours after they have been left on.

Nasal bone healing after Rhinoplasty is 4-6 weeks
The nasal bones heal very well on their own after 4-6 weeks and then glasses can be worn. They can be worn before this if they tape them to the forehead. If no bony osteotomies are done, then no waiting time is necessary.

Usully about four weeks
To avoid molding or displacement of the nasal bones or grafted cartilage it is best to modify the possition of the eye wear so that it does not place any preasure on the nasal surface.

Wearing loupes or glasses after Rhinoplasty
I am ASSUMING you are asking about a rhinoplasty involving in-fracturing of the bones. In that case, UNLESS you want to take them to your Forehead or use other ways to circumvent direct pressure on the bridge - most would recommend no pressure for 4-6 weeks - the period it takes the bones to form a solid union in their new location.
Good Luck.

Wearing Glasses After Rhinoplasty
Wait for a minimum of three weeks if your nasal bones were broken during the rhinoplasty. During this time here are your options;
1. Contact lenses
2. Use tape in the center joining part of the glasses and tape them to forehead.
3. Use cheek supports to rest the bottom of the glasses on cheeks. Some opticians can make them
4. Get an optician to put soft smooth nasal pads on the glasses.
5. One of my patients made a hole in the visor portion of a baseball cap and put a hook through it and...

4-6weeks later
However, as soon as the cast is removed we have our patients use flesh colored tape to hold the center of the glasses to the forehead. That way they can be worn 6 days later.

Glasses ok usually 4 weeks after Rhinoplasty
If no bony work is done, glasses can worn the next day. Otherwise, usually 4 weeks after surgery. Heavy glasses or loops may require a longer healing time. It's best to discuss with your surgeon.

Glasses can be worn four weeks after rhinoplasty
Four weeks after rhinoplasty the nose has 'set' and healed very well and glasses can be safely worn without affecting the result. We also allow our patients full activity at this time and most will have returned to full exercise. Very light readers are fairly well tolerated after two weeks, however you may notice some soreness with the pressure. Taping the glasses up on the forehead is often suggested though our patients would prefer to go without rather than be seen in such a state, and...

Wearing glasses after rhinoplasty
If the nasal bones are not fractured, patients can wear them almost immediately. If the bones were fractured, I have them tape the glasses to their forehead for up to 6 weeks, then they can rest them on their nose.

Eyewear after rhinoplasty
Hi, you can take your glasses to your forehead for 1-2 weeks after rhinoplasty. Loupes with a headlight are a bit heavier, and I would try to limit that until 4-6 weeks after surgery. This is a fairly long time, but the concern is that you might have too much weight on your nose so soon after surgery. If you're just using your loupes for 1-2 hours a day it's not a big problem, but if you need them for 4-5 hours/day it might be best to save up some vacation time. Loupes do need to rest on...

Rhinoplasty and Wearing Glasses
Greeting Mikec,
I would talk to your surgeon. For my patients, if we do not have to break the nasal bones, patients can wear glasses immediately. If the nasal bones are broken, I make sure that the patients either refrain from wearing glasses or ensure that the weight of the glasses is either taped to the forehead or resting on the cheeks for at least 6 weeks.

Rhinoplasty and Wearing Glasses
Hi Mikec,
You may wear your eyewear over your nasal splint at anytime after your surgery. There are attachments that allow your glasses to rest on your cheeks and keep the weight of the glasses off of your nasal bones. You may also tape the bridge of your glasses to your forehead depending on your "nerd" tolerance factor.
After about 3 weeks you may wear your glasses on your nose without worry.
Good luck and be well.
Dr. P
