Outstanding Result and Care - Virginia Beach, VA

Notwithstanding, Dr. Carraway has still generously continued to follow me and provide care to further erase the traces of the original surgery in order to achieve a perfect result. The follow up care has been exceptional! Since surgery, I have received numerous, extraordinary compliments from friends on my appearance. I have actually been taken aback by just how many compliments I have been kindly given, as well as their exceptional nature. I feel happy, confident, and content with my appearance. Choosing to have surgery with Dr. Carraway turned out to be a very good decision. I chose Dr. Carraway because of his skill and expertise. Three other physicians recommended him to me (one of whom was from out of state - Dr. Carraway is nationally known). Medicine is an art and there are real differences between physicians. As a patient of Dr. Carraway's, I not only benefited from his surgery expertise, I very much like him, thus the experience of working with him was a pleasure. I found him to be someone who genuinely cares about my well-being, is kind, charming, and informative. My observation that he is a surgeon motivated by a love for his patients, coupled with a daily desire to be intellectually and creatively engaged was aptly demonstrated in both my surgery and aftercare experiences. Contemplating, and then having surgery, is stressful. There is real benefit to working with a physician with exceedingly good patient rapport that you can trust will provide remarkable results.

An Excellent Plastic Surgeon - Virgina Beach, VA

Dr. Carraway is an excellent plastic surgery. I have had facelift, browlift, necklift and blepharoplasty and am very pleased with my results. He listens, and he is not happy until the patient is satisfied. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Day 22 Post-Op - Virginia Beach, VA

Dr. Carraway is the PS for Eastern Virginia Medical School. He is an expert witness who testifies in botched plastic surgery trials. People come from out of town to have him fix other surgeon's work. He came highly recommended by some friends of mine who had used him for work they had done. He is older, and has 40+ years experience. In my opinion and in this field, that is a very positive attribute. I did not consider any surgeons that were younger than 60. I have been quite pleased with all decisions that he had liberty to make. ALL THE GOOD STUFF I WROTE ABOUT HIM IS CRAP! HAD IT ALL REVISED BY ANOTHER SURGEON. HAD ANOTHER COMPLETE TUMMY TUCK WITH MUSCLE REPAIR. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS SURGEON IF YOU'RE GETTING ANYTHING DONE BELOW THE CHIN. (4-28-14)

Eyelid Surgery - Disappointed in Staff. Virginia Beach, VA

When I first met with Dr Carraway - he was very kind and made all kinds of recommendations. He appeared at that time to be very patient and concerned. I returned to have the surgery that was recommended and was so disappointed in the way the nurse assisting and Dr Carraway treated me that day. They were very short with me and I felt like I was seeing a total different personality. The nurse that assisted even rolled her eyes at me and snapped at me when I asked a question. I almost felt tricked. When I returned to get my stitches out - a different nurse tended to me and she was very nice and helpful. I am overall satisfied with the actual surgery though my skin was stitched incorrectly and I have a crease where the skin over laps under my brow.

Combining the Best Diets

In the past I have written about the Zone Diet, which has been my personal dietary pathway for about 16 years and has served me well. I have found that this diet plan simply follows principles of eating healthy foods in the right proportions and at each meal, and it would serve us all well as would most other diets offered today if you have the personal discipline to do this. I recently wrote in Tidewater Women about the need to maintain an alkaline pH in your body, mostly by...

Aging: State of Science

There is information available everywhere about every aspect of the aging process. From the news media, we have reports of how healthy certain foods such as “low-fat,” high protein, increased omega-3’s, whole grain foods, and many others listed can be of help to us in improving the aging process. Government agencies such as the NIA (National Institute of Aging) are wonderful sources of information because of the research that is being funded by this and other groups. ...
