If I Move out of State, What Happens to my Invisalign Treatment?

I am thinking of getting Invisalign. At the same time, I might move out of state for work. What if I move during the Invisalign treatment? Has anyone done that?

A: Changing Dentists/Orthodontists

If you move out of the area and need a new dentist or orthodontist to complete your treatment, your current dentist can transfer the aligners and contact Invisalign about the "changeing of the guard."  At the end of your treatment period it is common to want to order refinement aligners to further improve your smile.  It is important that an invisalign trained professional remove the "buttons" bonded onto your teeth and makes retainers at the end of your treatment.

Is It Possible to Get All Your Invisalign Trays at Once? I Will Be Traveling for a Year.

I will be traveling to multiple countries for at least one year. I will not have a permanent residence to come back to at any point int the trip. Is it possible for my orthodontist or dentist to give me all of the trays at once?

A: Invisalign aligners can all be delivered at once.

Although all aligners are made and delivered to the dentst at  once, it is best to have the dentist monitor the fit and movement of the teeth during the treatment time.  It is common to order refinement aligners to enhance the final appearance of your smile.  If you are leaving the area of the dentist with whom you started, it is possible for him/her to release your case to another dentist who can follow up on your case and ensure great results.

My Dentist Didn't Inform Me About Invisalign Express. I Believe I'm a Candidate. Should I Mention It?

For the top, I have 7 trays. For the bottom, I have 11 trays (I understand its over the limit of 10 trays). However, I feel a little ill-informed that my dentist didn't tell me about Invisalign Express. I'm a struggling college student and pulled out an extra loan to pay for my treatment ($2750 (a deal price I found online through a website.)) I never had my braces my whole life, because my single mom couldn't afford it. Should I mention it? (about Invisalign Express)?

A: Yes, always ask you dentist

You seem to understand the concept of Express well.  The financial arrangement of $2750 is below the cost of Express in all the offices that I'm aware.  Your dentist seems to be really trying to make the cost as low as possible - although his/her cost are higher with the 11 tray lower arch.  They are paying Invisalign (Full) the higher cost for your case.

Congratulations on finding a great deal for your orthodontics.  You should always openly discuss anything with your dentist!
