When I scheduled my consultation with Dr. Barber I thought I was going to meet his nurse, try on sizers, and get my price. NOPE I actually met Dr. Barber, of course his nurse was in the room. I talked to him directly and I really liked that about him. He answered all of my questions and joked around with me because we have the same last name. His nurses were really kind as well. His bed side manners are terrific and he seems to always be in good spirits. They also worked with me and scheduling and payment process. I could on and on about all of the this Doctor and his staff have to offer.
Dr barber is funny and made me feel at ease.

Charming yet sloppy and dishonest. More worried about making a quick dollar than pleasing the patient.

1 out of 5 stars CO2 Laser
I met with Dr. James Barber a few times before the procedure and he assured me it would be really easy to do the co2 laser on just the raised areas of my chin and that once the redness went away that everything would blend in and the area would be a lot smoother. I went in on 9/4/14 and had my husband come in with me and the doctor was more interested in talking with him than he was in doing my procedure. He asked me where to laser and he knew the exact areas but somehow he did the area next to what needed to be done but I couldn't tell at the time because the skin was so red and swelled. After a few days I realized that the doctor didn't laser all the right areas and I almost had a heart attack because I waited so long to do this procedure and now it looked like I had holes in my face. I called the doctors office and told them I was not happy and they brought me back in within the next 2 weeks. The doctor said he would do the procedure again but never accepted any blame for what he did wrong. I told him I was freaking out and he assured me the next time would totally fix the issue. Stupidly I let him laser the areas again and this time he did get it right but it did nothing. The last time I had the laser done was on 1/8/2014 and I called to tell the office and they said for me to come back in and I even made the appointment for sometime in April but after a month I decided not to bother going back to him. I have seen a few docs since then and they all recommend dermabrasion to even out the raised scars and then they would go over the entire chin area to blend everything in. I will have the dermabrasion sometime in January but it just sucks to have spent $700 and to be worse off than before I started. I don't think doctors realize that they need to know what they are doing before they even attempt to do anything to someone's face. I am 37 and have to live with this my entire life so I want it to be right and I should be able to trust a plastic surgeon. Just goes to show its often only about money! Anyway if you are thinking of going to this doctor for a procedure I would be very leery. He is a nice enough guy but when you are getting plastic surgery you need somebody that is competent and will do the best job possible.
