I am Dr. Andrew Miller. The eyelids and brow are extremely important areas to rejuvenate when trying to create a more youthful appearance. It's important that both of these areas be examined at the same time. To begin with if there's a lot of lateral heaviness of the eyelids or if the brows have descended, then a brow lift will be necessary, which we perform endoscopically. If the brows are in good position, then simply the eyelid skin can be removed. This is done by making an incision in the natural eyelid crease, removing the excess skin, sculpting the upper eyelids, and then closing the incision. The goal of these procedures is to create a nice upper lid crease that makeup can be applied to, that maintains a natural appearance and gives continued good eyelid function. It's important to see an eyelid specialist when considering surgery of this type. Together, both of you can go through your goals and expectations and arrive at a plan, which will create a nice natural long-term result.

A Permanent Frown May Benefit From an Eyelid and Brow Lift

Evaluating the eyes and brow has to be done together, explains Dr. Andrew Miller. If the brows are droopy, a brow lift is needed, but if there is simply excess skin of the eyelids, removal of the skin could create the desired outcome on its own.
