Hi, I received my tummy tuck last August. I am happy with the tummy tuck itself however my scar is awful. It was hypertrophic so my PS had given me two rounds of steroid injections within the last few months. Unfortunately I have noticed various burst blood vessels and I now have what appears to be a dent in the right side where the steroid injections were also used. Can anybody advise me on what to do about this?
Hi I would really appreciate some advice how to improve my tummy tuck results. I have had 3 rounds of steroid injections at same place I got the surgery done, in my belly button scar only, not main scar (the last was about 3 months ago) which have flattened the belly button scar but it still looks unsightly, I would like any advice about lightening and improving the scars. I am 8.5 months since drainless tummy tuck with muscle repair. I have vertical scars across main scar too
Hello! Had ETT with MR 4/15/22. My left side of my incision constantly hurts in a small area. Ive been on to see my ps because I swear I thought I had opened internally in that spot. He doesn't think so and gave me a shot in my incision at that area of steroid and nerve block in which I almost came off the table screaming in pain. He said that its a nerve or its scar tissue the nerve is stuck in/around. What else could it be?!! Does this sound accurate of what Im experiencing? Im so over it
I had a full abdominoplasty 2 years ago and developed a seroma below my belly button. After having my drain for 3 weeks, it had to removed as it was falling out. I had the area aspirated about 5 times total with a steroid injected into the cavity twice. The area went flat for about 4 mths until it came back. Now about 2wks ago, went and got the capsule excised with a drain. Fluid was very low after 2wks so drain came out. Now bulge is back. Doing massage and compression. Help?!
I developed several small keloids alond my scar, with the largest at 1 of the drain sites. 18 months after my tummy tuck sugery my PS injected them with steriods. Weeks later they flattened out then later develped into deep indentations. What is the best way to correct this? The issue seems to be that the steriods melted away all the fat under the scar so I am not sure scar revision will be an appropriate approach.
I had a dexamethasone inj (steroid shot) for tonsillitis and I have 12 days before surgery. I plan to tell the anesthesiologist tomorrow because I want to be safe. I read online that the half like is 12 hours for IM injection but Im nervous they will cancel or postpone me. Im having a tummy tuck, muscle repair and lipo. What do you think?
I had a tummy tuck October, 2018. Im Latina so, of course, my scar started becoming a hypertrophic scar. To minimize this, my PS administered steroid injections on my scar in early January, 2019. Almost immediately after the steroid injection, I developed prominent blue and purple veins around the scar. It has been almost 4 weeks since I received the injections. The scar is no longer hypertrophic, but now I have these crazy veins. Is this normal? Will the veins ever subside?
At roughly 6 days post-op, a rash developed on my incision line around the closure tape, as well as on the upper ab area. My immediate thought was the binder was the cause, and informed my surgeon. It worsened over the coming days, tape was removed Friday and by that night after seeing photos, a steroid called in. It was better Saturday am for a couple hours and then terrible, now containing blisters at 11days post-op, and two days after removal. No meds other than steroid being used since fri.
They begin like a pimple, break open with fluid and puss on my incision line(after tummy tuck). Ive been opened up and had irritated tissue cleaned out twice after the tummy tuck(that included muscle repair and hernia repair). Each time irritated tissue begins to pour out of incision. This time we are trying steroid injections. It seems to be keeping them smaller but I am still in a great deal of pain and they are still evident. My doctor says its just abnormal healing.
