Hello! I am 9 months post an open rhino to reduce bulbous tip and turbinates. I have had persistent pimples and commodes on the tip of my nose which i have mostly left alone. However, I have been applying some benzyl peroxide topical ointment overnight for 2-3 days and while the size of the pimples has been reducing, the tip of my nose is very red. There is no burning or irritation of the skin, just the reddness. Is it safe to use the ointment or am i damaging my nose? Thank you!
My next appointment with my doctor isn't for a little while so I can't ask him for now. I had rhinoplasty on April 12 and I removed my taping today and there are a lot of pimples on my nose. I believe that the skin on my nose is oily and not dry at all. So can I use Benzoyl Peroxide? It gets rid of acne by peeling the skin. Is it safe to use it? If not, what should I do for the acne?
I have fairly bad acne & I have several topicals I use like benzoyl peroxide and Differin (a powerful retinoid). In addition to this I have powerful acne washes and antioxidant moisturizers I use that have aloe and green tea extract in it. I'd like to know if there is a full list of precautions for things that can be used on your face and the nose in particular after rhinoplasty. What is going to be harmful to the healing process? Will anything compromise my results? Prolong swelling? Thanks
I have been prescribed tetrysal (tetracycline antibiotic) and duac gel (benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin, lincosamide antibiotic) for my acne. I'm having rhinoplasty in approximately 2/3 weeks. Am I ok to take these right up to the week of my surgery? Will it conflict with the anaesthesia? I heard that you are not supposed to take vitamins 2 weeks pre op for that reason. My surgeon is away at the moment so I can't ask him, any advice would be much appreciated, thank you
