I went to Dr. Gelfant in 2015 for a breast augmentation. I wanted to be conservative and chose 275 and 325cc (mod+) implants, under the muscle with trans-axial incisions. My results turned out great and I had no complications. After 2 years, I decided that I wanted to do a revision to go larger. I had a consultation with Dr. Gelfant and he agreed to do my revision surgery. I was very adamant about going quite large, since I felt my current implants were too small and not the look I wanted. I ended up choosing 500 and 550ccs (mod+) for my revision surgery. Dr. Gelfant had warned me that these were quite large implants for my frame (125lbs, 165cm), but I did not want to regret going too small again (boob greed). After my surgery, I was very uncomfortable with my new body and immediately regretted choosing such large implants. They did not fit my frame, did not look proportionate, and were not appropriate for my lifestyle. At my one-week follow up appointment, Dr. Gelfant could tell I was very unhappy with the implants I had chosen. He suggested the implants be removed out as soon as possible and be replaced with smaller, more appropriately sized implants. I was very hesitant to undergo another surgery, but did not want to live with the large implants. With the help of his clinic coordinator Haley, I was booked for surgery for 2 weeks later. Dr. Gelfant and I decided on 375 and 425cc implants. I am now only 2 days post-op, but I am already feeling so much better about my decision. The new implants are in proportion to my body and I am much more comfortable with myself. I cannot wait to heal and see the completed results. I would highly recommend Dr. Gelfant and his team if you are planning on having breast augmentation. They truly went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my results. I cannot say thank you enough to Dr. Gelfant and Haley Winter for their compassion and professionalism throughout this process. To ladies that are thinking they need to "go big or go home" when choosing implant size, I would say that they need to think about what is right for their bodies and lifestyles and not get caught up in numbers and CCs. Implant sizes will look different for everyone.
