Relieved to Have my Natural Lip Appearance Restored!
WORTH IT$1,000
I am so grateful I found this Dr. and that he is located locally. I had Silikon 1000 injected in 2013 and was not so pleased with the amount of collagen that has grown around it over the years. My lips started to evolve into something different and changed my appearance too much. My lips appeared lumpy and fake as I smiled or talked. I became too self conscous to smile with teeth even and hated how my selfies smiling with teeth looked. My top lip would smush and be this huge slug in photos, hiding much of my top teeth and along with that I had more of a bulge on the left side upper lip vs right.
I went for a consultation back in 2015 to surgically remove the product but was quoted $5K and was not promised that all would come out. I was told it would be risky and may permanently disfigure my mouth and smile. So I sat and sat over the years not really sure what to do. The lips were not too bad as I had only done one treatment of the silicone back in 2013 but I hated the unnatural appearance and the asymmetry of them. And the fact that they were growing over the years too.
While browsing realself for non-surgical alternatives I discovered a dr who just so happened to be local and offered a treatment to break down the silicone - Ultherapy. There was as Youtube video of his demonstrating the procedure and before/after and it looked quite promising. I did not even waste time. I was overjoyed to find this. So I booked my consult virtually and then had the procedure within two weeks of discovering it!
In the end I am very pleased with the result of this treatment and I am so relieved I resemble more how I used to look. Of course, the silicone cannot be removed non-surgically but can only broken down into smaller fragments. The Ultherapy does break down a little of the body's collagen as well which is what I needed too. But great to not have the lumpiness and the giveaway that I had anything done! My smile is going to forever be a little asymmetric, but nothing we can do, natural smiles are anyway.
I would highly recommend this Dr and this procedure - the procedure itself involved numbing locally with novacaine and then lip was smushed with the ultrasound device that was passed back and forth over the lip several times. It only took 10 or 15 minutes - very quick!
Recovery was also quick. I did have excess swelling because I thought I could break down novocaine after treatment by massaging area - bad choice! My massaging actually just only added to swelling. My swelling lasted just 2 days and it was gone after that.
I am so happy in the end :)

Any heat treatment to the face is dangerous and will break down fat and collagen if the temperatures are not set correctly. Even then it’s a massive risk and Drs don’t inform of this

how long did it take for you to see results? I just had this done a week ago and so far everything is the same..i’m hoping i just have to wait longer

I just think it's frightening that Ultherapy can break up silicone into smaller pieces. What does that tell you about what it does to normal skin and fat?
